For sure. I definitely like driving my truck. But honestly I miss my small car as a DD. More nimble, better on gas, really just simpler all around. Another option for a bigger vehicle would be a RAV4/CRV/etc. Better mpgs and more nimble than a gas guzzling 4Runner.

I have a fully built 2nd gen, mpg doesn't bother me. I just want to keep some miles off of the truck if i can.

I also hate taking the truck on short around town trips when a dd could be better (and my wife is using her car).

I see. Report back on how the 4Runner looks then. If it runs well and the rust is as it appears, seems like a solid truck for your needs.

Or you could go for one of these if it’s just for around town:

Good morning MD. Anyone interested in a KDMax 9.0 tune? A guy up near Gettysburg is doing them and he will travel to Harford County if we can get a couple guys together. I am in, we need at least one more for him to come to us. Otherwise I am driving halfway and meeting him. Fair price especially if paying in cash. Takes about 15 minutes per tune. Anyone interested?

Want some opinions. Based off of the new rear springs, it makes my 33's look like little kid tires. Like seriously. So, the question now is: 315/75r16 OR 255/85/16? The idea of a 35 seems great and would look sweet with the new suspension setup, but I'm wondering how the 255's would look. They would fill in the wheel well a little better perhaps? But looking for opinions. Pictures are always welcomed and appreciated, too.

Do you DD it? The only thing I can think of is whether or not the MPGs would ruin your life or if it doesn’t really matter that much to you. If you can fit the 35’s without doing a bunch of cutting and such, I can’t think of many other drawbacks besides the price of the tires themselves. Maybe extra wear and tear on some other components from pushing around those bigger tires?

I use to drive a built 70 elcamino as my dd and a 80series Landcruiser so my 4runner & Tacoma is better mpgs for me lol.

I still got like 15mpg with 35s. When i sold all 5 of mine for $150, and dropped down to 285s, still get 15-16. There is weight savings and less stress on wheel bearings. And i now have clearance for days.

Next set of tires, I'll probably get 255s again

If you want 35s on a 3rd gen you’re gonna have to relocate the windshield washer res and bash the shit out of the firewall in both from wheel wells, so i’d say just try a slightly bigger 33 than what you have

It seems like out of all the sizes, people really love the 255’s more than anything else.

Id agree with that. I dropped down to 285s because thats what TC recommends with the bypasses that i have. But next time, id go back to 255s. It didn't cross my mind when i was ordering unfortunately

That definitely makes sense. After I switched back from the 285 mud terrains to my 265/75/16 Grabbers, I decided im just gonna wear these out.

Im going to have a major dilemma picking a size after that though.
