Well I know this isn't apples and apples, but on my 4Runner I have 5100's up front with Tundra springs, Tokico shocks out back with OME 861's. The Tokicos are softer and I think behave better than the 5100's but that's just my personal experience. I don't know what they'd be like on a Taco. So far, these OME springs are proving themselves to be insanely awesome to me. I took out LC80 springs which were, compared to the 861's, much softer and bouncier.

Sweet, that’s all good to know. I appreciate all the info. I guess my only question is if the ride would be stiffer with the OME
springs compared to the stock springs.

Its gonna settle a little bit too.

i’m shocked how much mine has settled in the past 10k miles. It definitely is enough for me to need another alignment….she’s pulling to the right again anyway :pout:

So with Tokico shocks and OME springs, I have a nice firm but very comfortable ride in the rear. It's eating up bumps in the road and train tracks like nobody's business. I absolutely love it. Like seriously love it. I think it's the perfect combination. As for the front, I don't know if I have many options to really dial that in the way I'd like to, but it's performing fine enough, I guess?

I think it's safe to say with the 5100's and an OME spring, you'll likely yield a stiffer ride altogether. I'd venture to say stiffer than what my experience is like right now. You gotta think, the 5100's are a shock designed for on and off-road performance so naturally it would want to be stiffer to get better performance. It just depends on what you want as far as daily driving and whatnot, that's even IF you DD the Taco.

Yeah that definitely all makes sense. I’m for sure expecting a stiffer ride with the 5100’s. I do DD my truck and that’s why I haven’t done anything crazy to it yet. I may just stick with the stock springs when I get the bilsteins.

So what’s the honest deal with everyone and SCS wheels? I’m highly confused… from what I’ve researched in my wormhole of wheel shopping, they are made in Taiwan… only use a single stage paint, which owners say chips if you look at it too hard… are never in stock… customer service has bad reviews… warranty coverage has bad reviews as well… and they cost as much if not more than some of the other bigger contenders.

Don’t get me wrong, they are beautiful wheels, I’d love a set of Gen 5’s in white… but just can’t seem to get past all the CONS.

I just think they’re the the best looking wheel I’ve ever seen. I know that’s highly subjective but I love the way they look. Almost like artwork to me haha.
