As far as clipless shoes go, I've had kestrals sent them back and tried hellcats.

Kestrals I possibly could've sized up and been fine, but I just went for hellcats, they're wider.
Then I got the Shimano MT7 and I liked them more, but they definitely cost more.

Currently on my 3rd pair of Shimano AM9. Overall I still like them. They have a wide toe box by Shimano, and seemingly most shoe manufacturer standards. But I have noticed they’ve gotten more narrow as the generations go.

I have had rakuten for a while, it was the best cashback this time.

I'm about to start giving MTB stuff away though as I cycle through to newer stuff.

I would say narrow but compared to an XC shoe not narrow haha. For reference, I wear size 12 in most shoes. I've been rocking Salomon XA Pro 23 V8 and those fit pretty good. I wear a size 12 in the kestrels

    Salomon, AKA Slim fit hahahaha

I’ve burnt through more pairs of Speedcross than I’d care to admit. Lugs are like tractors but have zero longevity. And my fat feet start blowing holes in the toe box.

Eagerly awaiting RC to drop their 2023 line, should be any day now... I have been extremely happy with their shoes and service thus far.

That looks fantastic! I wanted to rebuild my Scale, but I really wanted a FS, so I took the plunge. But I imagine rebuilding yours with new paint made it feel new again. $800 probably made it feel as good as a new bike for thousands more would have. Maybe even better, since it's custom. Good looking rig!

See the speedcross doesn't really agree with my foot, it is actually too narrow. The rest of their stuff usually fits, it's a small margin. I still stand by the kestrel being wide for a bike shoe haha

Kestrels run narrow. I like the Freeride and the Hellcat, the Kestrels were too narrow though.
