Is There That Much of a Size Difference?

How much of a size difference is there between a 2nd gen Tacoma and a 2004-2006 Tundra double cab? Friend at school finally used the size matters thing between trucks with me in one of my classes. And used the whole V8 thing.

Only thing I told him was I have more power even though its a V6, and I dont need the size...although i'd probably fit better in one. I asked if he really need that kind of truck, does he haul stuff? No, tow stuff? No.
I dont tow but i haul stuff

I know the 2nd gens arent that much smaller but how much exactly?

Size matter arguements matter to the small brained , easy game to win , just buy something bigger than your buddy. He says 300 I6 , your other friend goes 302 v8 ,he goes 351 v8 , friend 3 goes 6.6 TD blah blah.

Those smaller tundras and the gen 2 tacoma look awfully close in size. So , does it matter , when you have plenty of leg room, I'm 5'11". Does it matter at 75mph , one has a faster 75?
How much smaller? my guess is 2-3" narrower a foot shorter per cab style,but Im too busy boasting about my Fiesta being bigger than your buddies Geo.

Sometimes acquaintances try to start shit about their truck being bigger etc. etc. I invite them to come wheel with me whenever they want. Diesel HD trucks are notoriously poor offroad.

Different purposes, different trucks. People seem to have trouble with that. But until they're making my payment, they don't get an opinion.

 

I guess it aint that much bigger then after reading the specs. It sucks though because he knows that bothers me...well mostly the fact he is putting down my Tacoma

My last truck i relearned how harsh an empty 3/4 is even aired down ,and how the locker with diesel power can really eat up tires .I dont blame the truck, like you said,wrong application,even for some switchback gravel roads going hiking.

 

I had a 2003 Tundra access cab before I got my Taco (also an access cab). They are virtually the same height and width, only difference is the Tundra is about 10" longer.

 

Oh, and the Tundra had 9hp more than my Taco. Huge difference that V8 makes, huh?

 

my buddy has a '05 tundra dbl-cab and it's pretty much identical to ours in size. the only differences i could note is that it has a little more head room, a tad more leg room in the back, and i'm sure the bed is a little longer. but all of these sizes are literally just a few inches in difference.

 

Almost like toyota said " keep the frame,make a new body n rename it"

 

The bed is what really makes the tundra seem longer, its alot taller than the tacomas

 

a long bed dbl-cab tacoma would be about the same. and it's only a few inches taller. idk if you are talking about the cab itself as taller or the ride height/clearance as talller. but if you are talking about ride height, a tacoma with a 3'' lift probably sits the same or a little higher than the older tundras. and for the height in the cab, the difference in head room between the two was only about 2'' also.
