This is making me paranoid and regret selling my OEM tails.

Kinda strange situation I was on the first list for the new tail lights put them on as soon as I got them. Have had no issues they delivered with no issues and work perfect even through a bitterly cold snowy winter. Really sucks that they seem to just fall off having had my taillights off and on several times the way they are all set up you really need to baby those things back on. Toyota could have made the area of connection a little more durable.

I also think it is odd, and this is 2nd time it has happened too. I personally have not seen this happen on any other aftermarket tail lamps.

The plastic used on these MoriMeso is just brittle, especially the ones for the tabs/mounts. They basically disintegrated into small shards. For my first set, I thought I may have over tightened them, so for the replacements I just finger tightened till snug, didn't even used a wrench. Welp that apparently didn't work.

Mine are some of the first ones shipped since coming in from overseas and, so far, have been good. Time will tell I assume.

Also one of the first off the line. Have had no issues other than a bit of condensation that went away after a week.
I'd be lying if I told you I don't check on them every time I go out to the truck to make sure they haven't fallen.

Considering a pair of Depos with Vleds as a back up. Total downgrade IMO though. Just the safer bet ATM.

I'd love some feedback on what's happening with these tabs and if there will be any upgrades to prevent the issue in the future.
Hopefully it was just a bad batch. All things considered I am still am excited to hear about the Limiteds but will be watching closely to make an informed decision.

These lights look great and I’m stoked to have them but I would be hesitant to but aftermarket lights especially first gen models. Still getting condensation after a year of use but now I’m used it. If it’s “normal”, how is it that my OEM Toyota LED front lights that are 10x brighter not having condensation issues? Any lighting engineers out there help me understand? Is there a step these aftermarket companies skip or don’t have access to? Genuine curiosity.

Condensation issues happened on my AlphaREXX heads too and they went back immediately hence why I bought the OEMs.

I will give credit to Headlight Revolution though their customer service is top notch!

It has been almost 3 weeks and I have yet to hear from MesoCustoms regarding my issue.

My DEPO Pro Taillights came in, so I swapped them out, as I did not want to chance another failure.

Well it is a good thing I did, cause the driver side's mounting tabs were fragmenting apart...

has anyone tried contacting morimoto? i know most purchased from meso(i did) and want them to respond for these kinds of things since that is where our $ is, but don't you think it's f'd up that morimoto used the materials they did? i don't think meso has anything to do with that part. honestly these are worth a smidge more than half of what they are charging for them.

if mine break i'll go back to the pros.

Meso hasn’t posted on here in 7 months, I’d go to their customer service if needing to talk to them.

edit: I see you haven’t gotten any info from them in 3 weeks. That sucks. I have found they are really not very responsive. Also a while back I was on the lookout for triton bulb adapters for V2 tail kits. They told me they’d be out in a week or two. That was like 7 months ago. Not a very impressive company.

Ye, I contacted them via their site's contact page. It said not to send more than one, so I waited a week, then two, now three...

Not sure what is happening, I still see him posting stuff on his Instagram though...

    Still waiting for it
I’ve been quiet- but I went through 3 sets. I’m back to stock. I paid a premium price for the OG hand made tails back 4 years ago. They failed after a 2 years and Stu made me whole with a new set of these in clear. They all failed within a few months, no hard use. I was told in Nov Morimoto was correcting the molds and by q1 we’d have this all fixed up. It’s now almost May, and we’re all sitting here, and Meso has gone dark.
I have all of Mesos products, but wonder if he’s losing interest…

This is just speculation on my part, but I think with these tail lights he bit off a bit more than he could chew. From the time of the original pre-order things did not go well. People paid in advance and waited literally months for the product to arrive (mostly through no fault of his own - Covid shipping delays really hurt here). When they did arrive there were quality issues with a significant number, and this is by far his most expensive product. Making things right with this product is quite costly compared to other items on his site, and he appears to be working with limited capital because he needs to pick and choose the items he restocks (at any given point about half the items on the website are out of stock). Something this costly and complex may have been a bridge too far.

    All the things!
I think he's made that rather clear...

I used to be a big fan (I have a lot of his original products), but my experience parallels yours... OG tail lights failed, replaced after 2.5 years of waiting, with the ultimates, that randomly quit working. I then bought a pair of OEM 2019 lights and a stage 1 kit. Paid for expedited shipping on a set of resistors (in stock) and waited over a week for it to ship.

I'm done with his products. His lack of activity here tells me all I need to know.

I figured my dude just moved to the Tundra for awhile after Frankensteining his Tacoma since there wasn't much left to do.
I was hoping he would be back to update us on tab improvements and the Limiteds.
Not responding to support tickets is worrisome though.
    Bummer.
