Was this photo after install? I see so many conflicting reports on what the 885/5100 combo yields, I’m hesitant to pull the trigger. It’s a lot of money for things to potentially not work out

Sorry for bringing this one back from the dead. 5100’s with 885X, 1st clip, and 1/4 top spacer on driver side it’s the sweet spot. If so, I should be cool if I remove the sway bar, am I correct. As a note I don’t run any dumb racks or gear, above the center of gravity(only armor and sliders) once or twice a year load the dirt bike on the hitch carrier with a cooler and some sleeping bags and a ground tent. I’m a 265/75r16 dude.

That's exactly how I had mine setup and it was great until I added steel bumpers and a shell.
Only difference is I run 255/85r16s and I had a Wheelers 1.5" AAL.

As a SitRep, I installed the 5100’s with 885X old man emu springs, bottom clip and added the stupid 1/4” on the driver side and for lean correction and the issues begin. UCA made contact with the spring. Remember guys, 5100’s are extended travel shocks. Anyway, before going crazy I did the basic stuff which is removing the added 1/4” top spacer, that being honest will work perfectly if you upgrade your UCA’s. After removing the spacer I had perfect clearance.at full droop. And yes, at least you need a AAL in re rear to be leveled. I have a 3 leaf added in the rear with the overload removed. So right now I’m sitting perfectly leveled from simple eye perspective, sitting 1/4” lower in the front left side (driver) once you pull the measuring tape. Shoot me a DM if you have any questions.

Sorry to bump an old post, but I have the exact same size tires and I’m about to have a shop install the exact same lift you have. I just have a handful of questions. Has it settled since then? Did you get the taco lean? Did you leave the overload in on the AAL? Also how is the ride compared to stock? Thank you for your time

I considered he TRD lift kit through Toyota, but they wanted too much. Now I’m looking into the 5100 all around and AAL in the rear.
I’ve heard that setting the 5100 on the highest setting (2 inch), makes the ride awful. Does anyone have experience with that? If so, it sounds like you can get new (longer springs) so that you can keep the 5100 on “0” setting. Would this help the ride? If it does, what size spring would be best to gain the same 2 inch lift? Daily driver.
    2021 TRD sport.
Planning on running 275/70/17 with 0 offset wheels.

Question for anyone running 5100s at the first clip on 885s. For my lift went with 5100s, 885s with an icon full pack without the overload leaf. My truck rides great but it's a lot of rake right now. I was wondering about possibly moving up to the 1st clip or 0.85 on the 5100s but I hear mixed things about doing this. My whole point with the lift was keeping a somewhat stockish ride and don't want to wreck that. Truck is an OR AC.

Just installed 5100s all the way around with 885s on the bottom notch and 1/4" driver side plate spacer up front and a 3 leaf AAL from Headstrong for +1.5"-2" in the rear.

Pretty happy with it so far.. although my 265/75/16 KO2s look a little small now. Might bump up the size when these run down

Did you notice a lean, or did you install the driver’s side spacer as a prophylactic?

Did anyone see the new video dropped by overland outfitters on youtube? they did a shock comparison last year on all high end shocks, Kings Elkas Fox 2.5s etc and everyone wanted a "budget" shock overview video so they just dropped one. 5100 beat out everyone in every category. they where better on road, washboards, whoops and on a few higher speed offroad trails. if you havent seen it its a decent watch. really makes me consider going 5100 instead of 6112 when i get shocksupload_2024-6-3_15-43-44.jpg
