I feel like it’s unreasonable for that guy to think his electric vehicle could get through “two and a half feet of snow” lol

But what do I know?

Rivian owners are a different income bracket I would hope than most Tacoma owners. But nice to see some love for the Taco

Smart people make better choices than others. Buying a product because of your income bracket is dumb. Tacoma's are time tested no matter what my income is I'll always drive a Tacoma.

No one that's buying a daily driver, and relies on that daily driver (90% of us?) should buy something like that...let alone something where the closest dealership is "hundreds of miles away." That's just asking for inconveniences. People just don't think when they buy vehicles. Not to mention, at least if the situation required it, our vehicles are pretty simple...that's to say that even if we can't work on our trucks ourselves, there's at least someone within a couple of miles that can at least change our battery or pop a serpentine belt on our stuff for us. Good luck having anyone touch your Rivian.

I'd buy a Tacoma before I bought a LR Defender. I don't need a capable OR SUV and those are expensive. I'd go with the Defender over the Rivian at that price point if I'm going to attempt to use one of these vehicles as they are marketed. LR isn't known for reliability but how long have they been building utes? Since at least the 2nd WW, you know what to expect.

Rivians are BOF Teslas with an air suspension, if they are up to par with with Tesla quality. Comparing EVs here. I don't think Rivians are bad, they are actually a cool EV.

I like the picture of the adventures compared to the picture of the tow op. Boots, gloves, parkas with their hoods up, compared to no hat, no gloves a flannel jacket, of course that guy is probably in a hurry to get back in the cab of his toasty CV/Silverado 4500. Might be a little warmer and less windy closer to road.

Only thing I can comment on is some folks having more money burning a hole in their wallet than they have commonsense.

Obviously that article was somewhat tainted. If my new Toyota breaks down under warranty, towing would be covered by the mfg or at least my insurance. There may be specifics in that situation that voided that though.

I would like an electric vehicle some day, but I’m not giving up my horse and buggy just yet.

"When I put it in Drive, I can feel my transmission shifting!"
"What is this cover over my rear disk brakes?"

A lot of guys in construction are running full size trucks, easy 86 grand, no one wants a 2 grand bill. Even if the guy is dumb.
