I would rather have a higher output engine and have to -possibly- maintain it for carbon every 5+ years than have an engine with similar numbers as the 3.5NA in a heavier truck.

I hear you. I for one, would not like to deal with any of that . Just the thought of opening an Engine at 60,000 or even 50,000 to get the valves clean is dreadful to me. Just a quick stop by the pathfinder, and QX60 forums with their engine VQ35DD and their sludge stories and recurring problems after getting the valves clean is enough to keep away from the VQ38DD on the Frontier but to each its own. Just my 02 cents

I like how manufacturers are throwing around random terms, like “high output,” and other bullshit to confuse buyers about turbos.

    I dunno, I consider 310 hp and 430 lb.-ft. to be pretty "H.O.". But that's just me and my 278hp &265 lb.-ft. Taco talking.

    With a Yamaha boat motor!

There was a guy in our town that had a custom license plate that said SHO GUN.

LOL, back in something like 1999 I visited my favorite cousin down in the Philadelphia area and her husband, someone I despised (she got rid of him a few years later), couldn't wait to show off his new car. He took me and my then 5 year old son out to the garage to let me see the lightly used 1995 Taurus SHO he'd just purchased from the proverbial "Little old lady who drove it to church on Sunday". The car was pristine, had less than 15,000 miles on the clock, and had an automatic transmission.

When my son (who's first word was "car", and has been a car-guy his entire life) and I were first out of earshot he said, "Daddy, does the SHO come with a manual transmission?" I told him it did. "Is that why you were shaking your head when you first looked inside [name redacted]'s car?" I looked at him with what I'm sure was a stunned look on my face and said, "Yup." His only other comment was, "Loser". Yeah, looks like I done raised him up right. :D

Just got my '23 in on Saturday after waiting a few months for delivery. Was hoping they did the reveal before I had to make a decision. Ah well - loving my 3rd gen... if the 4th gen is bad ass Ill drive it while they iron out the kinks

Well I never buy the first year of a new model. It takes 4 years for it to grow on me.

Because it is a “CorOlLa EngINe”!
Just a bunch of guys who think there is no replacement for displacement. And this is your reminder Ford once produced a 460 with 200 HP/350 torque.
