I spent a couple of summers with my aunt and uncle in Watkins Glen. They had a 175-acre fruit farm on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake. When the races were in town, they would rent a large dormer room to race fans. I was only in 5th or 6th grade so I did not get to go to the races, sigh.

Good Sunday morning to all. Going to be nice out today so it will be yard work on the docket.

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes (yes we have them again!)/harbingers of spring. Yesterday was the gloomiest, wettest, coldest day of March so far; that's the kind of weather I like the least! Give me *shudder* snow over that. Today promises to be breezy but much warmer. And the sun will be out!

Thanks for the reminder! I don't buy mower blades very often but I do need to get the kit for annual maintenance of the ZT. It gets a good workout over the good weather months with mowing and hauling duties. I serviced the hydrostatic units last year so they're good to go for quite a few hours. First ones I've ever had with oil filters on them.

That's really nice. Very professional looking and functional.

I'm lazy and cheap. I just cut a piece of OSB, glued some carpet to it, and laid it on top of the seats.

A little something every chance we get.
Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! I fought the yard, and the yard won! Well, it all got done, but I'm the one with the heating pad. I'm usually in mowing shape by end of the month, but weather has us behind. And I did spend an hour in the field behind the fence. That was a mess. Had something digging under the ramp into the shed yesterday, so I cleaned it out, sprayed mint to discourage, and moved a Blink cam so we could see if we caught anything in the act. Nope. Some disturbed bark mulch next to the dig, but that's all. Will be all stones after tomorrow.

Did get a FREE offer to see the race at COTA, but I had to be realistic and turn it down. General admission, and I'd have to find them after parking. While I was sitting my sore legs at the table by the pool, I realized no way I'm up for that at the moment. Seats, sure. There is very little flat land in the spectator area, and the johns are a long way off the track. I did it with my son when it opened up - for the Aussie Super V8 cars - and there's no way I could do that again. Not at the moment anyway. Taking it easier today, and will wave at my friend and her boyfriend on TV!

That's some fine work there, Rich.

Thanks. It had been a long time since I had fabbed anything of mention and was a lot of fun. The welder was happy to get out of the back corner of the garage too!

As you can see, most of the cost was the HDPE and the aircraft track. It will do just about anything I could imagine.

How about a pic with lid open showing hinges and latch, please?

No hinges, the panels just lift off. You can see the latches in the pic. On the other end of the lid, I riveted a strip of aluminum to slide under the HDPE and hold it down.

I understand this type of approach completely ^ - looked into the major change - just seemed a bit too far to go (for me). Reverted to a wood base that lies across the back seat and just fits and levels, armrest to armrest. Gave it a forward lip and a cushioned cover made of HF moving blankets - our two fuzzies appear to be happy. Allows an instant change back to human habitation when you quickly throw it in the garage.

I pulled the seats from my rear, access cab. I made a ten inch by two foot (or longer) 2-step platform, to level one side to the center, for a Dometic cooler. It is strapped to the seat attachment metal pieces (what are they called?).
