    I don't tolerate stock or old suspension.

    I put new Dobinsons right after I got my LC along with Icon shocks.

    The coils ride stupid smooth, I just happened to pick their stock-height setup. They're progressive coils so they can still handle some payload, while having great road manners.

    @Speedytech7 recommended them and it rides great.

    Just want the same feel, but minimal lift.

    I think the older video where he goes over teh basics of the truck might be good.

    All the welders I see that do mobile stuff seem to really appreciate having a boom of some sort.

    This guy especially impresses me:

    Yeah I’ve heard those ride like a Cadillac off road. It’s honestly impressive how comfy they are for a solid front axle vehicle. You don’t really sacrifice any ride quality in an 80 series vs an IFS truck. The steering is even pretty decent on road.

    Getting cleaner, almost ready for paint, gotta cut off the other sway bar mount first though. Might as well have that access to the steering parts and exhaust rather than two brackets that are in the way.

    You never thought of SASing? I was just wondering since your fab skills seem very impressive.

    It doesn't suit how I drive, I helped SAS my buddy's 91 pickup though, we did it all in an afternoon with a Skys kit. It rides pretty nice but ultimately I do long hours in this getting to places and travelling from camp to camp and I like to drive fast on street and dirt. IFS does that better for the pricepoint. Solid axle could do it too, but the expense would be crazy and getting the same comfort is tough. Once you leave the pavement my somewhat mild taco build makes my Land Cruiser feel like a Bolivian Donkey Cart. Sometimes I get stuck a little easier or have to think harder about how to approach an obstacle with the IFS and I think that's a fair trade. Putting larger tires on has helped with that a lot though.

    Man, it's great to see a ton of you guys making a lot of progress today!

    @Wulf

    I went ahead and bent the other one up for ya; took no time at all. Was actually for both our benefit since I don't have a box that would fit said plate in a flat position.

    I think a first gen on 80 series axles would be really cool to see. I think maybe @slander has that setup?

    There's a bunch of Toyota pickup guys who have cut the entire 80 series suspension and axles off and welded it onto the pickup. Pretty easy SAS but the front setup on the 80 with the radius arms is already a really compromised front suspension design. It sacrifices travel and geometry for on road stability to meet the price. I don't think I'd want a radius arm setup on the taco. Plenty use the 80 series rear axle though as is, it's a good axle.
