Yeah I've been keeping an eye on em, that game against UCLA was fucking close. I actually applied for a job at Gonzaga I'm hoping to hear back about on Tuesday, I live very close to the campus

There's a lot of sweet trails around Tucson. Redfield Canyon is incredible.
They're playing UConn rn. they have a good chance to win the tournament if they can win this game since most of the top teams are out already.

I wondered about this a lot actually. I wasn't sure why Toyota didn't make it 4-linked from the factory like a Wrangler.

It seemed like Toyota was prioritizing durability above all else, and didn't really target the 80 series towards rock-crawlers in North America. After all, most of them would used on unimproved global dirt roads as opposed to the Rubicon.

It doesn't break and it has excellent on road manners. That's why they don't death wobble and wander like a Jeep. But they can't flex as hard either, still better than the leafs of a 60 series or a YJ wrangler (okay that was a cheap shot, literally welding an axle to the frame is better than YJ suspension) and it fares on road nearly as well as lower tier IFS vehicles.

Yeah....these dudes removing a bolt on each of their radius arms? Pass.

Delta VS makes a nice looking set, but even that is limiting. I asked if they offer a weld it yourself set and got a big fat No since some of it is welded via robot.

That and I'm sure they don't want someone duplicating their setup to the T with parts of an assembly.

Is a custom 4-link set up needed to really increase flex significantly on the 80 front ends then?

3 link gets you more flex and will sacrifice some manners, 4 link gets you the flex and you can keep the manners with a lot more upkeep and also making the 4 link on the front is a bitch. Radius arms gets you good manners, impressive body roll control, and pretty stout maintenance-less design... But you just can't flex super hard. Unless you're lifted there's no reason for the delta or any other arms on the stock geometry.

So, my mention of the Delta VS arms would be paired with a lift as well.

And yeah I'd to do a custom 4 link.

Hell, I'll do all the cutting, welding, etc myself. I find the hard part about it would be figuring the geometry and where to mount everything up.

But I'll be honest with myself; most I'll do are Delta arms and a lift.

Little man will be here soon so I'll be enjoying that for a good while.

Yeah getting the mounts and actually welding them to stuff is the easiest part of doing a link setup. The hardest part is the geometry. And because there's a whole engine in the way and the frame isn't straight finding places to put your lower and upper links to get the triangulated geometry isn't easy without having your arcs travel through existing members like the engine or the frame. That's why a lot of vehicles end up stupid tall too. If you bump it low you don't have to worry about what it'll hit :p

It's probably for the best considering you can't finish a bumper even :luvya:

Does those actually improve droop that significantly?

Ugh, you just reminded me of 99% of SAS'd Toyota's here where I live.

Think I tagged you and a few others on this one SAS 4R that was lifted some 10"?

No just fixes caster and axle center placement since things travelling on an arc tend to move a lot longitudinally out of their rest position. Doesn't really do anything for droop though, just helps keep things feeling close to stock with a lift.
