It's been done for awhile! Just didn't bother to correct anyone :luvya:

It's the swingout arm that needs finishing which just consists of 2 x 2" square tubes, the mounting plate, and ordering wheel studs.

Yup, sucks only 2 were made and one crashed during a promotional show for G&E, but at least the surviving one is on display at the USAFs museum in Ohio

Good come do mine now. I ran outta time with the whole being in Seattle thing for 6 weekends of the winter. I wanted to build a bumper but it's looking like it might be something I sneak in in summer now.

The big pieces you'll want to cut for yourself (think I measured 45" wide), but for side panels and whatnot, hit me up and I'll get you pieces cut right away.

Was telling @Wulf I've been trying to just focus on cutting on the table cause it keeps me busy, but homebound in case Stephanie needs me for anything.

I almost destroyed the 100 this afternoon. I heard a pop, it became hard to steer. I couldn't stop it or change course, I crashed in between two trees.
The passenger side A-pillar is all bent up. The roofline above the door is bent. Passenger side door damage.

I don't know if I should try to fix it or find a donor body LC and swap over all of my modifications, part it out, or make it a trail buggy.

I like the way it drove on long trips. Though it is too big for my environment. A 2nd gen Tacoma or 4th gen 4Runner would be a better fit.

The Taco is my daily driver so I don't need to make a quick decision about anything.

I'm sorry dude that sucks, glad you're alright though. I know you fought with the steering on that truck the most of anything.

    Liked to unlike.

Sorry to see that! But like Zane said, good thing you can walk away from it.

I vote cutting it up and going crawler; 4R for your 'expeditionary' vehicle.

For sure. As soon as I thought I had it under control and could enjoy it, this happened. It was an otherwise good-natured vehicle except for glitchy steering. Most other 100s didn't seem to have that problem. Or they weren't admitting it if they were. It will take a year to move all of my custom stuff to a different 100.

I think that's probably the best course of action if you like the platform, you'll lose the least amout of money and time that way and you have plenty of still good parts that are probably a direct swap over, even some of the welded bits.

:rofl:thus makes me want to share a story about hoarding....

TLDR mom was a hoarder, Dad said more shit in the house = divorce. Mom saw loophole, stored her hoarding stuff in her PT cruiser. Ford explorer ran red light and t-boned mom on the driver side. Thanks to the 1000lbs of unnecessary shower tile in her back seat, the explorer literally exploded and she was able to drive the cruiser away unharmed lol

Damn that sux. At least you are ok. I vote for a 2nd gen Tacoma but make sure if you do get the 6' bed. Makes it a lot easier to sleep at night.

I've done that sort of thing before and the reason I went through five 4th gen Maximas. Just keep the best parts moving to the next one. The problem is I only paid $3,500 for the 100 at the beginning of COVID for a rust-free Texas truck. Now the prices are crazy high.

I'm glad that I didn't install the Gamiviti rack as it would have been damaged beyond repair today.

No injury. The airbags didn't deploy. I was wearing my seat belt. Not a scrape.

My use of that platform was a "marriage of convenience" more than any great love.

Once we got over our quirks, it was ok and looked good to outsiders. LOL

Whoa. I’m glad you were unharmed. Do you have any idea what happened? Was it a ball joint failure perhaps? I hadn’t heard of this being an issue with the 100 series..

Do you think the impact was enough to bend the frame at all?

I'll need to look it over in the daylight tomorrow. The ARB bumper has crumple zones and usually protects the frame. The outer tie rod was from AutoZone (I think 555) that was replaced in October at a tire company when I got into a bind and couldn't replace the rock and tie rods with OEM.
