A/C drip mod kit….

I finally got to install this kit this afternoon. Can’t say enough about how simple this thing is to install, and how well the double-nipple adapter is made. I spent more time taking off the passenger side tire and putting it back on than I did installing this small mod. I really didn’t need to take the tire off, but it was easier to take pics and such, so that’s what I did. Note: I just had the truck fluid filmed a couple of weeks ago…should’ve done this first, as that stuff is a mess to work in.


Started by removing the tire, and the engine compartment drape on the passenger side to have access:



Next, I found the OEM AC condensation drain poking through the firewall:



I then pushed the provided hose onto the smaller end of the double-nipple fitting, and then pushed the other end of the double-nipple fitting (yes, it’s as much fun to type it as it is to say it…double-nipple) into the AC Condensation Drain. Make sure to push both the provided hose AND the AC Condensation Drain all the way onto the double-nipple fitting!:




Next, install and trim the provided zip ties as shown by the blue arrows:




I routed the hose down through the frame, and secured it with a couple of my own zip ties. If you do this, do not tighten the zip ties so much that you crush/close the hose! This probably wasn’t 100% necessary, but I wanted to make the extra effort:




Didn’t even have to trim any excess. Kit was perfect as is. Despite my poor photography, the drain empties several inches away from the skid plate. Thanks again @Vorra65 !:

I have a 2022 2.7L SR. Does anyone know if the 2.7L has the same issue with the A/C condensation rusting the frame? If so, I would like to purchase this drain kit. Thanks very much.

Edit: Now that I know where to look for it, I just found out the 2.7L does have this tube. Just sent an order for one of these kits.

 

I just got my A/C drip mod kit today from Vorra65. I received it lightning quick; ordered it Thanksgiving day and received it Monday. The kit contains the machined aluminum hose adapter, a 24" of 1/4 diameter rubber hose and two 4 1/2" zip ties. Vorra65 was very easy to communicate with and made a very easy kit to install.

Free bump for Vorra here. Got this kit as soon as I purchased my truck back in February. I had a 100 series Land Cruiser prior to this truck and my frame rotted right where the damn Toyota A/C dumps its offerings to the Gods of Rust Buckets. Immediately searched for a solution before the Taco felt the drops of our ever corrosive H2O and was pleased to find this kit. Vorra messaged back immediately and I quickly had my kit in hand and on the truck. Below are pics for reference. Easy install, all parts included.
