Pro grill on SR5??

The garnish is literally just a piece of plastic patterned to look like the grill on the front where you mount the TSS-P sensor on the backside.

 

for TSS/adaptive cruise control

 

It covers and protects the TSS (the sensor in the front)

 

So, if you're curious, I found out the hard way why real off-roaders don't leave the nipple rings in.

Last November I got to my campsite which was a good 45 miles from the nearest pavement access, (and a good 60 from the nearest gas station). And I notice while setting camp that my nipple rings were missing.

The next day, when exploring the area, I find one of them again:



I found the other the day after that.


Now I should have taken that as a lesson to store them in the cubby where they belong. But no. They're back on the damn bumper again. But at least I have them zip tied this time, so that they can't unbolt themselves.

 

Interesting - I guess they vibrated loose. Funny I noticed in a pic of your grill a while back the zip ties and wondered why you did that. Good info - and good idea.

 

I've been rocking a Chinese Faux Pro grille on my OR for years now.

Works well enough as a grille for me to not notice it one way or the other. Bugs and rocks smack into like any other grille, OEM or not.

 

Still got my original SR grill too... I actually prefer it.

 

I kind of like that grill a little better that the cheese grater although I have seen some what look like painted cheese graters that look a bit better than stock. Like that you blacked out chrome bezel on your grill.

Just guessing but was the pic in the snow taken on VT campus?

 

Yep on campus couple of years ago. We basically haven't had any snow this year here.

Yes you can. There are many cheap Chinese bezels on Amazon, should one decide that their plastidip skills aren't up to snuff.

 

Why care what others think? Its your truck, do what you want. A heritage grill is going to look the same as every other taco out there. Just google it and pick one, theyre all from the same factory.

 

I personally prefer the sr5/limited grille

 

Just put the TRD Pro grill on my SR5 no issues with the sensor.
