I was his last appointment, but what a difference you can actually feel some power and the responsiveness of the throttle is way better. I felt it right away with my rig on the back.

It's a work in progress :) Once I get some more done to it and some additional pictures I am thinking of creating a build thread. But if you see me around Dartmouth just stop by for a tour :)

Had my manual transmission truck tuned and yes I immediately noticed the difference. After disscussing with Dave the tuner, there were 5 different stages of the OTT tune ( Overland Torque Tune) He recommended the 2 stage tune for my truck based on his experience in which i am trusting. He said if i go any higher it is near imposible to drive in snow as i will just be spinning and also it is harder on rear diff. He said he will be coming back around approx every 8 weeks so if i want or need to change the tune it is free. The throttle response , torque and power is all there now below 3000 rpm where it wasnt before. I filled truck up with fuel before leaving Truro and was able to get my Kms down to 16.9 L / hundred kms on my way to Bedford but on my way back to Truro it climbed up to 18.2 so i think it is using more fuel. I will update if i notice anything else in time if needed. As of now i would recommend

Yeesh, I was thinking if he could give you more torques at the cost of a little fuel economy he could probably turn some of my excess ones into a little savings at the pump but I would have to put a few more miles on than I do to pay that off!

    ok, here are the measurements

the bolt they used is 6" long. You can see in the Pics that I put a double nut at the top since that is where you put the wrench on it to "pull" the bearing out, if you had a welder I would just weld a nut to the top.

the big flat bar is too thick IMO, I'm 90% sure that 1/8" or 1/4" is plenty, but anyhow its 3/8" thick, 1 1/2" wide and 4" long, but really anything that will span the hole will work.

the actual extractor thingy is as follows.

    .85" wide
    1.54" long
    .375" thick ( at the thickest )
    .285" thick ( at the thinnest )

    inner circle thingy is .955"

Mine has been modified from when it was bought from ECGS, the outer edges were ground down since it seems the original ECGS tool was too "tall" as many TW users mentioned. This tool was bought 2nd hand so the mods were already done. I just remember stuffing in the plastic bag to prevent the tool from falling into the diff, and using a variety of wire, fingers srewdrivers and a punch to get it where it needed to be in order for me to thread on the rod. After that it was an easy pull. So easy that I swear you could *almost* just yank out the factor bearing with your fingers, lol.

picture dump is below, let me know if you have anymore questions I'll be happy to answer / take more measurements ( in a much more timely manner.. )

The wife and I are doing a 2 week trip to NS and PEI over the summer. We have a well equipped truck with an AT Overland Atlas top on it. What are the camping options up there. Is it all paid camping or is there some free boondocking available. Also are there any must see places. We will have our dog with us so something wont be able to happen. We will prefer the free boondock camping Thanks in advance

    Congrats on the trip!

Vermont is nice, I'd like to go back there soon. So are you coming over the border at the New Brunswick border or heading straight up and going through Quebec?

As for things to see, Nova Scotia specific stuff I would have to say:

    - Cabot Trail ( Cape Bretton ) is really nice, epically if you do it counter clockwise ( water will be on your passenger side, if your afraid of heights might want to do it clockwise ) The fortress of Louisburg is up that way too and that's pretty neat if your into that stuff. Speaking of Cape Bretton, they have the Alexander Graham bell museum ( Telephone Inventor ) so if your into that its worth a stop.

    - Peggy's Cove down by Halifax is also very nice, pretty big tourist destination, Lots of rocks to climb on, the "famous" light house. Just stay off the black rocks, folks tend to get swept out to sea if they venture onto the black slippery rocks down by the crashing waves.

    - we have lots of little towns and stuff that are charming, Mahone bay is one I can think of, Wolfville is another small town that's nice, has nice restaraunts and if your down that way you could go to "the look off" to see the whole valley.

    - Whale watching, this can be done in a few places, Cape Bretton is one place, Down towards Digby is another ( Same side of the province as Wolfville ).

    - Halifax, Halifax is neat, we have a fortress that overlooks downtown called "Citadel Hill" lots of bars, restaurants etc... We have some historic stuff in Halifax too, its a really old Port City founded in 1841 so lots of history there, Pirate heritage etc... Oh and the "Halifax Explosion" that happened in 1917 leveling downtown and launching stuff miles away from the water. There is a Fair amount of "stuff" that was left right where it landed and made into memorials etc..

    PEI:
PEI is cool, one thing to note is you have to pay to get off the Island no matter what. If you take the bridge back to New Brunswick or the ferry back to Nova Scotia its going to cost you. Bridge tolls and fees website
one thing to note about PEI is that its not very big, meaning that even if you were to stay in say... Cavendish, Charlottetown is only a 30 min drive away.. so getting around is not a big deal on the island.

    - PEI is known for its sea food, Charlottetown is the capital City there and they have lots of restaurants serving fresh sea food, the Brackley Drive in movie theater is a neat experience, just bring bug spray as it can have lots of mosquitoes depending on the time of year.

    - PEI is know for its fishing as well, there are guided tours ( boat tours ) that will take you deep sea fishing if that's your thing.

    - Anne of Green Gables is pretty popular since the author of the books lived on the island. There is a play about Anne that runs during the summer if that's your thing.

    - Cavendish is what I like to call "The tourist trap" part of the Island. It has "the boardwalk" for your Ice Cream needs, a few clothing and souvenir shops, there is mini golf in Cavindish, SandSpit ( little amusement part type thing ) etc... the usual stuff designed to take your money.

    - Golf, Golf is everywhere on PEI, I don't golf but those who do say they have some really nice courses there.

    Camping:
as far as boondocking goes... the only designated place we have that I know of is called "Bowater Mersey Lands" the only thing its close to is Peggy's Cove and Mahone Bay. I mean you *could* Camp there and travel to Halifax, but that's going to be like and hour drive, 20 to get out of bowater, and another 40 to get into Halifax.

we have lots of camp grounds, Provincial run ones, Federal run ones, and private ones. I'm more familiar with the pay type camping since that is what we mostly do in the summer with the exception of winter camping in bowater, some one else may be able to chime in a bit better.

We have some pretty nice provincial run tourist websites

If you grab the iOverlanding app it will show you some spots that you can boondock. Some on pei that are listed I know have been closed or a sign posted of no overnight parking. There are a lot in Nova Scotia besides Bowater, you just need to do some research and make sure it is on crown land.

D2 covered most things for you. There is also a big wine industry in the Annapolis valley so if you are into Winery tours etc there's lots of that available. There are boondocking campsites all over the province, but most people are sensitive about posting their locations on public forums as they tend to get rather busy once the general public finds them, I would consider sending some I know of in the valley area as long as you don't post their locations publicly on this forum or anywhere for that matter.

Hope you enjoy your trip to our beautiful province!

I just sent you a rather long message with links to a few campsites I know of around my area and also some links to the roads that lead into the Bowater lands that @D2. mentioned earlier. If you are looking to do some off road exploring while you are here I recommend the Bowater lands as the place is MASSIVE and has many many free camping spots. The other sites I sent you links for that are in the interior of the province are also surrounded by tons of off-roading if you want to explore them, I spend most of my spare time out this way.

Feel free to reach out if you want any more info. Hope you enjoy your trip to our province!

Hey guys been off this site/thread for a bit. Moved on to other projects and looking for some help if possible.
Need to find a place/person willing to install a lift on my Mercedes Sprinter. It's a massive van, 4x4 and I just don't have the space/tools or skill to do it myself. The sub frame needs to be dropped but has very specific and detailed instructions that puts in at about 8-12 hours shop labour.
I literally don't care the cost just want it does asap and done right. Game on
