Good question, I just know the speedo and abs don't work anymore. I guess it needs all for to run all the programming in the computer maybe.

Yeah it was the first I've done that too, most people don't want to lose the speedo and abs. Good experiment at least

Thanks man. It’s a turd compared to what you’ve built. That thing is sick. I’m so jealous of people that do a clean job. I’m over here slapping shit together crossing my fingers half the time

I’m not overly worried about loosing them. Just thought the truck would go into Limp mode without speedo input for the trans. I currently get my speed from a gps since my spedometer is off by a lot.

That’s what I was worried about. I took off the charcoal canister when I did my fuel cell and it killed any traction control stuff even in 2wd. Really don’t understand that one except that it’s intentional by Toyota for some reason…

my point being who knows what all is tied together either functionally or otherwise haha

Finally got the ball rolling. Working on steering pump, box, and brake system while I have all this room up front.

That’s interesting, and to your point, it’s wild how much “safety” systems are put into place in the electronics of these vehicles.

if the trans is an issue, I have been shown this as a fix if need be.
And I was a bit bumped about this fix since now the truck relied on the stock tcase, but after some more research, you can adapt speed sensors into an atlas. Not sure about a 205 tcase though, but atlas would probably be the easiest, just not sure about the cheapest.

Holy crap that’s intense. Got my fingers crossed on this one. I could stand shifting semiautomatically, but not limp mode. I’ll be finding out pretty soon I suppose.

Yeah. Same boat. That information is from “building the beast” build on here. Definitely seems different models and years of trucks have issues. Good to have a solution but it’s a pain in the ass…

This video was very helpful for me to understand the difference in vacuum and electronic brake assist. might help someone else, too. Gives me hope for the electronic booster and sparks my curiosity if it could be made to apply more pressure…

Man, having a usable truck is the most important thing. You can slowly change shit if you don't like it or it isn't working. Even when you think something is perfect it always ends up getting changed anyway so wtf is the point.

Trying to figure out steering hoses. So many options. Am I correct in thinking 3/8” for -6 AN and 5/8” for -10 AN? Am I looking for R2 hose or another type? Can I use the same hose type for low pressure? I know it’s probably more expensive, but would rather keep it simple. Wanting the field serviceable stuff.

Your full hydro, I would go googling and look at the zillion of other resources that are not Tacoma World to find out what will work with what you have.

Do you have a good hydraulic shop near you? A good hydraulic shop will fix you right up. When I had my setup I just had hoses made with a spare set going to the ram. Those are the only ones that I was worried about breaking because they have the most movement and are exposed. I wrapped them also to protect them.

I don’t. Napa said they could make some, but I want to make them myself. What’d you wrap them with by the way?

Anyone that’s made lines for full hydro or hydro assist will know the answer. It’s not brand specific to PSC or anything like that. The info I’m trying to verify is what I gathered online already.

Just google it. I’ve made all my hydro lines and fuck if I remember what size hose it is. I just go online and play Lego’s on PSC’s website until I have fittings and hoses that work together with my hard parts. It’s not complicated but if you’re insisting on -10 high pressure line for your low pressure feed, I guess you must enjoy complications. I’m pretty sure a handful of guys including myself have already had a discussion with you once about hydro hoses/fittings in this thread.
