Yeah they're not powerhouses haha, they're hard to break but they're not powerful at all. Can't really turn the boost up without injection pump modification either and that's another $1700 on top of the pump rebuild costs from a company across the pond. They're not easy to work on, especially not in a vehicle. They just don't break enough for that to be a big problem.

With you on the blue interior, but such a classic design. Still a great looking car.

Time to edit from today's shoot. I think it is gonna look as sharp in pictures as it does in person.

Like I said, it's been pretty much 90% done for a long time now.

Just dreading the hardest part and that's getting the spare out from the shed; it's all the way in the back.

As for the wings, I'm going to locate someone local to bend some DOM for me so I can weld it up for side protection.

Apparently they use them as bush taxis in Africa. The stock suspension is insanely overbuilt. The springs especially.

You probably explained it but what's up with the gap around the receiver?

    Aesthetics.

I've always hated a large flat metal surface.

    Looks so plain and cheap.

So I wanted to break it up by still keeping the receiver flush with the face of the bumper, but add a little recess around it.

Yeah. I keep liking the P2 and P3 Volvo xc70s but you have to be picky with them .

Cutting 1/4" plate that will serve as a mount to the frame for reinforcing the wings from cave-in.

    20230326_121125.jpg

Have 15' left of that 2" x 3" rectangular tube I can weld to said plate in a similar fashion to this?

    20220912_145306.jpg

Though I'm thinking the rectangular tube will add too much weight and will be way overkill.

In other words, serves absolutely no purpose.

You're gonna hate my bumper design then cause it's copying a friends that is absolutely no frills, no extra shapes or features. Just cut the bedside below the light and 2x4 steel with 3" angle iron mounting and bracing. Just needs to give me a little clearance and hold a tire with a little table, I don't carry weight like jerry cans out there or anything.

This can’t possibly be your land cruiser, I see a rear bumper on it.

    Lies.

I don't hate simple designs. I like them actually if lines are straight and the welding looks good.

I ended up with my design...just by getting bored with cardboard

Would've ended up being simpler if I had my CNC table back then.
