Nah, they just need to figure out how to shorten the cautions. Such as finding a way to short cut the track under caution.

I missed most of the race due to driving. What was everyone's opinions on this week's guest announcers? I thought they did well, and I've liked Kurt in the booth in other races.

I like them overall, even though it cost Busch the Daytona 500.

Cool seeing Chase being involved in the broadcast. I feel like he made another poor quality Fox production slightly more tolerable. I also understand the mindset behind unlimited GWC attempts but for gosh sakes that felt like forever. I was beyond ready for the race to end. Wouldn’t bother me to rid of this track. Way too long for me. Best part was the 23 getting taken out. But that’s my 2 cents.

Like I said, I wish they would shortcut the road courses under caution. No reason the cautions should take that long if they have the ability to cut across the track.

Amen, the finish today was pretty embarrassing. The field can't figure out how to race respectfully.

Suarez is gonna be looking at a big fine after slamming Chastain and Bowman on pit road after the race.

My understanding is that Chastain hit Suarez into Bowman as retaliation. Wouldn't doubt if they both get something.

Edit: after seeing the 48 interview, it sounds like Suarez was initially upset with Bowman after not realizing the 1 forced the 48 into the 99.

I didn’t see the incident but COTA in its current configuration is not the right kind of track for Cup cars. Herman Tilke designed it and he’s known for making some whacky, modern “Squirt Gun” tracks. Cup cars do not operate like squirt guns (‘aim and squirt’ like F1 and MotoGP handles). Cup cars are elephants in wheel barrows. They need sweeping esses and wide, high speed runoffs.

I’ve been to COTA. It’s a beautiful facility, but it was not designed with stock car racing in mind.
