Haha I forgot I had that bottle and it was a gift about 3 years back. I picked up the old fashioned at a local store for 20 bucks and thought the two would be good together, they were. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Yippee but couldn’t tell that to the person who got me it

Well gents, off to Reno butt-ass early tomorrow. I’ll have tomorrow evening available for some hunting, and maybe Thursday evening before I fly home. Get to spend some time in the backyard of Frey Ranch distillery, but they have some bizarre hours currently and I won’t get a chance to visit.

There’s always the chance of running across a random BTAC at a gas station, which is one of the things I thoroughly enjoy about Nevada.

Wish I had time to ski :(

    Have fun buddy.

Maybe a VR headset for some simulated skiing?

Enjoy and safe travels. Don't feel bad about Frey Ranch, it's cool to see, but it's 2.5 hours of driving for a 45 minute visit you'll definitely get the chance to try and buy their normal offering in town and if you want a single barrel pick from there, hit Ben's.

Love me some of these double oak, or toasted barrel bourbons. Anyone recommend some others for me to try based on these two bottles? Would High West Campfire be a good bottle to try?

Only grab HW Campfire if you like scotch, it’s a blend and if you don’t really like scotch (like me) it’s the dominating flavor in my opinion

Unfortunately VR headsets are verboten at my conference.

Thanks man! I’d called ahead and heard about the single barrel at Ben’s, have you tried it?

Campfire will not be in any way similar to those finishes you mentioned. Bourbon/rye/smoky scotch, allegedly, I say allegedly because I did not find it to be peaty/smoky, perhaps because the bourbon and rye cuts it. But very flowery and herby like a scotch.

Old Forester 1910 or a store pick Maker's Mark will have similar sweetness.

I wasn't able to try their single barrel or cask strength because they were out at the distillery. I've heard it's good but very intense. I think I saw 140 proof on the cask strength? Might not even be allowed to have it on an airplane

That is quite the cabinet collection! Love it all, and to know the cabinet has some family history makes it even better!

And thanks for the suggestion. I really enjoy the 1910…need to pick up a bottle to go with the other OF I have. And I’ll have to find the MM again, it’s been a while since I’ve had MM but always have enjoyed it!

Range is 120-137. You’re right that’s almost airline illegal.

    Not much stock left.
I’ve been sipping on the Woodford Double Oak. It’s been impressive.

Lol no this is the duty free at the ATL international terminal. I think the price is dumb, but I’ve never seen so much Blanton’s in one place before.

Besides you have to be an international passenger to purchase. “For export only”

Damn, I fly through ATL all the time and have never seen anything beyond the normal day to day brands. But, I thought the point of duty free was that it was a good deal?
