Ever notice that when you buy a new vehicle you suddenly notice there are a LOT of them out there? LOL! Until I took delivery last week, I guess I just didn't take notice of just how many Tacos there were out in the wild. Now that I'm driving one, it seems like every vehicle I pass is a Taco. I guess I'm in GREAT company!!!!!! It's a TACO world, and that's a good thing. I love just looking at them in all their configurations, all colors, all levels of "lifted" and modified craziness, etc... It's a great club to be in! It's not hard to figure out why they are by far the most sought after mid-size trucks, little quirks be damned!

I love the transmission, the old school stuff like drum rear brakes, a manual e-brake lever, NO FREAKING TURBO BS, and proven engineering. I'll keep a close eye on rust - doing Fluid Film in the next couple of weeks. So geeked about driving it and just looking at it. Put on step bars, tonneau and some cheap neoprene seat covers (until I can figure out which ones I really want). Bought the emblem blackout kit and put those on last night - transforms the look.

I noticed the same...Lots of them on the roads...That said I still haven't seen another Solar Octane one in the wild yet.

Yes, there are a lot of them out there. Surprised because all the negative shit we read here on the TW :crapstorm:. I have owned all 3 generations and loved them all. Great product, resale is the best in the business and they last forever if taken care of their maintenance schedules. just saying

I’ve owned eight different Superduty 4x4’s over 26 years and never saw as many other Superduty trucks compared to the amount of Tacomas I’ve seen since buying my ‘21 SR SX 4x4 in January.
It’s a ten mile ride into town (I live in the boonies), and I never fail to see at least 5 or 6 other Tacomas on the way…..

Oh, and thank god there isn’t a “Tacoma wave” like those Jeep drivers…my arm would get sore quickly.

Mmmm. I love me some Tacos, but you’ll never hear me calling a Tacoma a “Taco”. But that’s just me…..kind of like calling a shotgun a “shotty”. Not gonna happen…

we are friends now. I'm not sure why simple words and names under 5-8 characters need shortened,, it has me worried about our future.

Tacoma's have always been around here like cockroaches. Not so much for tundras, you might see one or two a week.

It's really funny to me - coming from driving a Volvo. I would always get really excited to see another one, anywhere...let alone the same model. We had three of them in my neighborhood, but we never even spoke to eachother honestly. I chat up the Tacoma guys all the time though. The one guy that basically is the reason I started to even look at Tacomas runs a lift (3/2) and 285's. It's a pretty clean Tacoma. I'm guessing we have at least 15 in the neighborhood of 219 homes.

Where you live plays a part. Where I am there are easily four times as many Super Dutys than Tacomas. F150s total probably 10 times.

I live in a pretty heavy Ag area though and there aren't really any Toyota dealerships outside the city. There are a number of small town Ford dealers around.

There may only be four or five 3rd Gens in my town of 10,000.
