Kinda my thoughts as well, I have 4 stages of lights and I always at least have the ones by the workbench on.

Thinking about a 3rd Gen 4R?

Prices are finally coming down a bit seeing as how the market is getting soft. Still see a handful of $10k under 200k mile rigs but give it some time and sellers will get their head out their ass.

 

I think it would be a major help to the air quality after say, stripping rust off a chassis, or grinding mounts off a frame. I could see the shit hanging in the air when I was done the other day, and while I was wearing a respirator, I would like to pull some of that shit out of the air before it settles on every surface. Right now my workbench has rust dust from my work haha. I've used a lot of Jet equipment, it's largely Taiwanese stuff (which has a higher standard of quality typically) but I've seen some Wen stuff in home woodshops so I know they make some decent things.

On that note my Temtop air quality monitor from Amazon died like 1 day after the 30 day warranty ended lol

 

Shit I was about to say, you've got a large shop but that just means a lot more to contain.

My space is tiny and I keep both the garage door open as well as the side door to get a draft going; came inside yesterday and my wife still 'smelled' the metal on me (I had already taken off my hoodie).

I can benefit from getting rid of that airborn stuff as well.

Ever think about an extraction system as well?

I'd love to just open the big door and the man door and be done, but I'd be letting out my heated air. Having the heater on in the winter has been a real treat. I don't know what I'd do with an extraction system really. Those things are huge and I don't weld in any specific area of the shop. A lot of the time I'd be lucky to fit my face and torch in an area, can't imagine pulling a hood around too. I will be putting in gable fans this summer though. The shop needs a way to lose a bit of heat in the summer. My single big ceiling fan helps bring the heat down to me from the heater in the winter but it doesn't do a whole lot for cooling in the summer.

Totally makes sense; I hadn't considered how cold it is there (now even) and having a heater running.

As for extraction, I've seen smaller setups that'd work great in a residential setup (theoretically). They're usually on a cart you can wheel around so you'd need a spot on each end maybe to push the air out...that could be a bit of a chore.

That air filtration setup is making way more sense now though.
