    You might have to drop the fender liner, you should be able to just unbolt the intake tube on the 4.0 and just unbolt the filter box on the 2.7

    Well I'm about 50% done... the rear strap was very easy, just time consuming to slowly unscrew the 2.5" screw that they issue for a 1/2" thread depth.... fucking sucked.
    $13 M12x1.25 mm Self-Locking Nylon Insert Hex Lock Nuts, Pack of 6
    M12x1.25 btw if anyone needs to fine a shorter one but I used OEM hardware and just neverseized it. Front strap though.... woo that was a fun one. There was no head of a bolt to grab onto so I ground the "head" down and drilled out the screw, started with a stepper bit and it was going mint until I sneezed and snapped the tip off. Proceeded to spend the next 30 minutes with a punch/hammer/extracting bits to remove what we left in there then drilled out the rest. Currently waiting for a M12x1.25 tap as my "master" kit doesn't have it....

    Flapdisc'd the skid plate and repainted it with Chassis Saver so that'll wick off water/crud better.

    All in all - fuck I should have replaced the straps 60k ago when the hardware was decent...

    Also noticed my rear diff is seeping from the seal...

    It's not terrible to do. I think the biggest pain is to take the brake lines off the wheel cylinders and then bleed the brakes.

    I can't remember if Toyota sells a gasket for the third member, but I have just used RTV (gray or black) to seal the third member to the diff housing a couple of times, and so far no leaks! I think the last time I used Ultra Gray...

    Well I'll be, I never knew that! I just looked it up, and apparently it's green! Well, whatever color/flavor you choose, just make sure it can hold up to oil (like I wouldn't use blue or red RTV that is going to be up against oil...).

    Yea I used it when I had my diffs rebuilt, the stuff I got was actually gray, must have changed it

    It was permatex. I think the label might just be green. I also used it 4 years ago now

    Drove By A taco with tacoma world stickers on there truck on my way to vermont from maine how many fellow taco lovers in the new england area could use some possible help one day pay and beers is exceptional and good lol nothing planned now but I know i’ll want some help from someone with more experience then I at some point

    No worries! Some green RTV would be weird, but would definitely go with the smell of used gear oil lol
