My 2012 Tacoma TRD Off Road came with one key and FOB. The wife is flying to Florida tomorrow and was going to take the Tacoma leaving her new RAV in the garage with Oklahoma weather. Then she thought what if I lose the key.

Other than going through the dealer, any good ways to get a key, FOB, and program them?

local locksmith key cut place like those little huts in grocery store lots. Heck, I got lucky my last truck a neighbor was a locksmith. asked his prices and for a card, he asked what i needed, said not a problem, cut my keys, had a programmer and 20 minutes later had some keys and they worked. drank a couple beers with me and said give me some small random amount of cash but only because he had some in the van with him likely.

You can buy inexpensive keys and FOBs on Amazon.

Reprogramming the FOB is easy, there are a couple threads that describe the process.

Reprogramming the immobilizer in the key takes a little more effort, but is still doable if you buy the software/cable to do it (I believe there is also a thread here that gives extra info on this process too).

Worked for my truck (with the above linked key, FOB, and cable/software) without issue. But given your time frame, the above might not be feasible.
