Wassup you guys, I haven't posted anything here for a while, but last weekend i accidently left my light bar on when I got home and 6 hrs later my 13 year old son came to tell me that my light was on so I went out to my truck to turn off the light and tried to start the truck but it was dead and making a bunch of clicking sound so I didn't jump Start it until the next day. The next day I jumped start the truck and drove it to work and I noticed the middle screen on the cluster flicker every 30 seconds even after all the accessories are off so I ignored it and drove it to work for a while week and so I left the truck parked at home for the weekend and tried to start it up on today to go work and the truck was dead with only little juice left and I can't figure out what the problem is.

Modern batteries don't do well with a deep discharge and the Tacoma has an electrical system that is very fussy too.

You probably need a new battery, DEKA is a quality brand that I prefer.

I guess I can start off by buying a new battery and if I still have problems then I'm gonna start disconnecting my light bar and my pedal command. I'll keep you guys updated.

You need to charge the battery, not just jump it. Put it on a battery charger. Alternators aren't really designed to charge batteries, especially with a low charge after jumping a dead battery, they are more meant to maintain the full charge.

Looks like you may be cost conscious as you previously bought a reconditioned battery. Get a new battery right away. I suggest getting a regular lead acid battery. Get the cheapest you can find as they're all the same except for case covering and stickers. Don't waste money on anything else unless you really want or need to. Also try to get your light bar wired so it will only turned on when your ignition is on.

I judge risk based on how unexpectedly things fail. Slow leak on a tire you can see. But batteries tend to try hard to work right until the bitter end ... (example numbers here) 87 cells out of 100 needed, will work on 87 good cells and just die when it drops to 86 ... at 3 AM ... 20 miles from any open business on a backroad.

What's next...you're going to buy used tires and wonder why your truck is squirrelly in the rain? Lets try using some common sense here.

How long is the commute? Once it's dropped to dead, a battery takes something like an hour to fully recharge off of the alternator. I was having issues because my commute is 1.5 miles, and this winter I drove basically JUST that for a couple weeks. I had to put a solar panel up top to keep the thing charged (works mint).

Chances are you battery is fine, but it's just not charged enough, if your commute is short. Alternators don't put out that much juice, takes some time to get that thing recharged. Try a trickle charger if you have one.

Op lead acid battery hate to be fully discharged. The best thing you can do is recharge it with a charger then let is sit over night and charge it again. Hopes that help. If not then you need a new battery.
