What’s the most annoying “popular” mod

Unless one purchases a locking Stant Gas Cap...which I did. I still have the tethered one under the backseat on driver's side. Luckily, I've had no CEL issues.

 

Larger tires/ different brands......Anyone who puts larger than stock tires on their truck, do they think they know more than the engineers at Toyota? The truck was engineered by Toyota with decades of experience building them, with a specific size for for different trim levels. My whole day is ruined when I see anything other than OE brand and size on another Tacoma.... Rant over!

I see all kinds of non-OEM tires on these Behemoth Trucks here in Delaware.

Do I dare tell these owners they shouldn't go Big on their tires/suspension? Heck no!

I just know I want to get as far away from them as possible. lol

 

Maybe its just because I'm from Jersey....lol

Leveling the truck

De-chroming the interiror. As if the interior doesn't already have enough plastic to it, getting rid of the little bit of chrome makes it look worse. To me the chrome adds a little bit of class.

 

Umm, larger tires increase clearance and off roading ability. There's not really much debating that. Toyota engineers are targeting a market with the tire size. Any size tire involves trade offs the stock 30.5 is a good all around size, especially for on road driving. It also has better MPG etc. But that doesn't mean there's not valid reasons for choosing a different size. WTH man.

 

I'm from SoCal/LA...this kinda accessory is common on Lowriders. (I don't live in LA and have not since 1986)

I don't mess with the homeboys who are creative with hydraulics and protect themselves in the barrio. lol

 

But Braydon down at the 4x4 shop with his hat on backwards assured me it would be better this way.

 

Have to disagree with you on this. The stock toyo open country a31’s suck. 5600 miles on mine and they are wearing like shite.Be lucky to get 25k out of them. You can stick to the crappy OE tires if you want but I don’t want to replace tires every year.

The chrome is a lie. It's plastic too.
Personally I don't like anything in the cab that can cause a glare.

Agreed completely. Folks dechrome the interior and turn it into worse looking than a work truck. Flat black is so lame. Chrome adds some contrast. The only chrome piece I don’t like is the cupholder trim, it blinds me if the sun hits it right. Everything else is great.

of course, it’s all opinion. I don’t adore chrome, but I like it better than flat black and no contrast.

I don’t like leveling either.

 

Tires sticking way out past the fenders. Looks really stupid and if one comes off and hits me you'll wish it hit you instead.
