Lexus plugs 90341-24016 (drain) & 90341-18060 (fill)

 

any precaution i can do for removing the stupid drain/fill bolts or do i just crank on them and pray they don't strip?

 

Clean the allen head out really well, sink that socket in as deep as possible. Literally hammer it in, the shocking helps it loosen up too

Installed a newly acquired sunroof shade. So glad to never have to search that part number again on the interwebs lol.

 

I've been trying to track down a *click/small, small clunk* that I could hear and feel in the steering wheel. After inspections, it had been suggested it was in the steering rack. Looks like I found it. Fortunately it is not the rack itself.

Another bad inner tie rod. It's pretty crusty looking too. Even though the boot is in good shape and seals well at both ends, quite a bit of Utah seems to have found it way in there.

 

Glad you found out what that was. How many miles on the ITRE?

 

About 25K miles. Changed it less than 2 years ago. It's a Sainke 555 from Low Range offroad.

 

Smack the plug with a hammer a few times first then try removing.

 

If that doesn't work, you can try using a torch to heat it up a bit

 

Looks like I have another thing to check. Sound has had me stumped as I’ve replaced everything in my front end fairly recently.

 

Took off the side steps, put new wheels/tires on (285-75-16), and washed.

 

Looks sharp. Recondition those flares and it'll look almost new!

What side of the add front diff always spins, passenger right?

 

Finally found the source of the water on my passenger side... does this mean my A/C works too well? It's crazy cold. I also live in the South a few miles from ocean so my guess is high humidity makes this sorta common?

 

technically both CVs still turn, the passenger side is just disconnected from the carrier so the driveshaft doesnt turn

 

I’m getting a loud clicking only when I’m in 4x4 so I’m trying to narrow things that I need to look at. I drained the front diff, fluid was dark and dirty and a had some grey metallics on the magnet but nothing crazy. Front drive shaft looks fine. Kind of lost.

 

Maybe see if your ADD stub shaft and gear collar are okay. Could unplug the ADD actuator and pull the case into 4WD and see if the noise persists, that makes it so just the DS and carrier are spinning under power while moving. Might help you narrow down before pulling the carrier

 

It seems like it could be a CV too.
