If the leg room in a Tacoma was the same as a Tundra, then wouldn't a Tacoma be a Tundra? Most of us who opted for a Tacoma (or any other mid-size truck) did so precisely because its smaller and more nimble than a full-size truck (not to mention much less expensive). I certainly wont complain if the 4th gen picks up an inch of leg room in the back seats, but hope (and fully expect) it will retain its cozy charm.

I meant leg positioning, post that last night when I was tired. I hate how close to the floor you are in the Taco. Tundra you sit up higher if that makes sense

Yes, it does. I had heard about the unusually low seat in the Tacoma but had no issues when I took my test drives and its a non-factor for me. Definitely impacts some though.

Looks like there could be a little more room to man spread. Get rid of that wireless charger move the shift lever over and make a little more room to stretch your right leg.

    Not to excited about this.

I was rolling around in 2020 MT Corolla for a few months. It had 90K miles on it when I bought it, but it just didn’t feel like solid car despite being made in Japan. The check engine light came on 3 times too. I know most of the blame should go to previous owner. Also Engine sounds annoying.

Compare this to my 2011 Lexus GX460 that converted to a 2022 LC Prado with imported parts. Rock solid at 130K miles, took it out off roaring multiple times.

I really didn’t like my 3rd gen Tacoma either.

I replaced my Corolla with a Tesla model 3 RwD. It’s a much better driving experience. Faster and I don’t have hear those annoying and effeminate I4 and V6 engine noises.

I’ll check the Tacoma EV, but I’ll consider the cyber truck first.

So you're in the market for a truck that doesn't exist, got it.

The Tacoma EV doesn’t exist and nobody knows if or when it will. The cyber truck is looks like it was designed by a 5 year old. Given teslas track record it will be probably scraped as they lose market share. They hyped it up, while ford and GM took them to town and released a real product. Tesla build quality is also shit. Rented a model 3 this past week. Some aspects of the vehicle are great, cheap to charge, quiet and fast, but it wasn’t intuitive or well put together. Fit and finish wise it actually feels cheaper than the Corolla at a higher price point.

Corollas are made in Japan and the USA. There are plenty of Corollas sold here that are made in Japan, including all hatchback models.

I have my name on the list for a GR Corolla; they are currently being built in Japan, but I hear Toyota has been so delightfully surprised at the demand for the GR they are dialing up production, possibly here in the U.S.; time will tell.

There’s definitely fit and finish issues with the model 3. However, the overall consumer experience was better. For example, I didn’t have to sit down with those finance manager ball busters. I didn’t have to feel scared that I was overpaying or getting screwed.

I got 7500 federal credit and a $3000 county rebate. I not quite sure if I meet the income limitations for the 4500 state credit. Bottom line: my net cost was $32K. Add-in the better driving experience, cheaper energy costs(I already have solar), and better customer service… it’s a far better value than a Corolla or Camry.

And I still get to roll my GX460 for outdoor trips.

the GX460, to me, is a symbol of the Toyota I dedicated my loyalty to for my entire adult life. This is nearly before Akio Toyoda took over. Before his “no more boring cars” philosophy that resulted in sports cars and sporty cars that nobody wanted. Toyota’s off road line was completely abandoned and mistreated because of his leadership.

My 3rd Tacoma was the first Toyota I didn’t feel fully confident in. Then I bought the “sporty” Corolla MT that felt like junk to me despite being Made in Japan. Worse, it had all these electronic assist gismo’s (iMT and iEbrake) that disabled when the check engine light came on. Who asked for a MT with no handbrake? Then to have it all fail because of a phantom fault?

TNGA-f Tundra looks like crap, and it has an engine that I don’t like before I even drive it. Further, all the new owners have 100s of complaints.

the sequoia is almost 90K, but we somehow don’t get a Land Cruiser because it’s too expensive. Let’s face facts, the sequoia is an inferior vehicle to Yukon/Tahoe. There is no reliability angle counter that because the TNGA-F platform is crap out-the-gate. The LC300 even has issues.

the BZ4X is the most embarrassing EV on the market, and I’m not sure what Toyota is thinking.

Im just waiting to see what the light duty TNGA-F looks like. What mockery are they going to make out of legendary names like 4Runner, LC Prado, Lexus GX Tacoma and Hilux? Under powered Turbo I4s? No more Manual Transmission? Reliability issues out-the-gate? Will we Still need need BMC for 35s? No lifts allowed?

Whatever the case, I’ll be driving my Tesla as a happy owner.

Pretty sure I heard all GR Corollas would still be produced in their Motomachi plant in Japan, but production will be ramped up.

I doubt you'd see the GR Corolla produced in the US. If anything I would expect non-GR hatchbacks to start being produced here.

I've heard that as well; I'm not worried about it either way, it sounds like a fun ride.

Telsa Model y just outsold the RAV4 in California.

Cybertruck is going to crush Tacoma. Watch.

No dealership is the best selling point for Tesla and I wish the rest of the industry would cut out those middlemen. That being said I’ll take an EV from ford instead of Tesla, a company that’s aggressively anti union and known for cutting QC corners to meet investor demand. They have the highest margins in the industry for a reason. If they didn’t have the gov subsidizing them a lot less people would put up with their business practices and QC. Without those rebates it’s a tough sell.

The hate on the TNGA- F is silly, it’s actually an extension of a business and production model Toyota has always used, simplify and refine over time. Less variation between models and shared platforms simplifies the process making things more reliable in the long run. We are getting a stronger frame that’s fully boxed. Sounds like good news to me. The reason aikido Toyoda took over is because previous leadership dropped the ball on EVs, that’s the Toyota you are reminiscing about. Enthusiast are actually very happy that Toyota is adding excitement to the line up. Toyota has a better performance line up than it’s had in years. GR Corolla is great, gr-86 is the quintessential rear wheel drive two seater sports car, and the new Supra is a fantastic car and it spurred Nissan to bring out the new Z.

The idea that Toyota suddenly stoped practicing their core business values on the new gens is not in line with reality. We don’t get a new Land Cruiser because nobody wanted one but die hard enthusiast. “Not liking the new engine before driving it” sums of the contrarians on this site pretty well, making an aggressive opinion before actually experiencing it or educating themselves first. The new ttv6 is a great engine, you should try it. It’s puts the 4.6 in the gx to shame.

I don’t think many or any of us care. That’s why we are here and not on a Tesla Forum.
