    Hi Everyone!!

Just picked up a 2019 Taco TRD Off Road 6MT and was trying to figure out, what brand and model bed rack is mounted on it! It doesn't seem to have any markings on it. I'd also appreciate info. or advice about putting some sort of tonneau cover on it. Do I need to remove the bed rack or can I have both on? In addtion, this is my first manual truck, so is it normal for it to be more sluggish when accelerating? I mean I'm not expecting crazy performance, but it just seems super slow to me. My 6 speed manual car is so much crisper and smoother with the shifts, especially when I'm rev matching.

    Hi and welcome...

I had the same initial reaction to the MT coming from the 2nd gen 4.0.... a super friendly TW member recommended I Rev higher because this little 3.5 really likes higher rpm... so I went from say a 2.5 to 3k shift point to more like a 3.0 to 4.25 shift point... and holy shit did that help! Much more responsive and the gas mileage doesn't seem that different.

Anyway, try reving higher. It worked for me

That bed rack looks amazing... like the best one I've seen. Perhaps a one of a kind custom thing?

Thanks man!! I've been playing around with different rpms and it does seem that it likes to be shifted in higher rpm ranges. The gears seem looong too. I guess I'm just used to driving a car with a manual tranny. As far as the rack, thanks, and I'm thinking it's definitely custom. I just can't find it anywhere. I guess I'm either going to have to find a custom tonneau cover somehow or some other solution. I really like the rack.
