Not sure if enough clearance for the HC ramp AND the chair to turn around.

My buddy is a disabled veteran with a knee replacement. Dude is 35, jacked as fuck, but sometimes can’t walk very far. Can’t tell that by looking at him. He’s pretty cool, but I probably wouldn’t ever accuse him of faking his disability.

I would never accuse some one of faking a disability. You never know what is going on with someone else's health/life.

At the same time, there are those who abuse the privilege by using someone else's tag or the permit holder remains in the vehicle [specifically prohibited in my state/not the purpose of the permit] and these people take up spaces that someone else really does need - this is where my problem lies.

Like everything in this world, there is that subset that is selfish above all else - to the detriment of those who truly do have a need.

Thanks to your buddy for his service!
Veterans should get all the support they want/need because of what they gave up for our collective well being.

Trying to get us back on track of hunting for assholes. Got a shit ton of feelings going on in this thread lately.

In the lines but parked his board backwards… yes, there is a right way, fin to the front, and it’s a Tesla too so that’s worth some points, right?!?!

Fins forward is to stop the board sliding out backwards from under the straps while moving if you didn't strap it down tight enough.

it could slide forward, but that's much less likely.

I would do it the other way because the force of a hard break is way more then hard acceleration. But either way the straps should hold. Years of towing has taught me that.

Around here we use it as sign of assholes of the water. Usually the same people that don’t learn the rules out in the lineup. kinda like asshole parking hunting.

The display of the plate or placard is what determines if the vehicle can legally park in the handicap space. That's the only rule required to be in compliance with ADA law.

Just a point for clarity... The handicapped person represented by the placard must have been transported to, or will be transported from the handicap parking spot in which the car is parked.

That sounds right, I don't know the law well enough to go beyond that.

I think that one would be tough to prove if the handicap person is there or not. I wouldn't want to be the one towing, or ticketing that vehicle.

It's more so the airflow/wind resistance under sustained driving that is the concern, rather than quick acceleration. Since the wind would flow over the hood, over the windshield, and then under the board.

There's a risk either way, but as someone who lives in a beach town, I've seen plenty of loosely strapped boards get some wind under them with the only things preventing them from sliding out being the fins catching on the straps. Never seen a board fall forward from hard braking though.

Oh plenty, they used to be a guilty pleasure haha. I'd be more concerned about a surfboard catching air to fly up into the air, or dropping straight down in front my car at moving speed, than having it slide into my rear end, as far as potential damage/injury goes
