My truck was supposed to be here basically a month ago. The good news is winter should be over before the truck shows up and I won't have to worry about road salt until October. Granted I currently have zero faith that it will be here before October.

I wonder if these trucks that are on hold have common options. My truck built 1/16 that is on hold is manual transmission with premium package as well as advanced technology package.

My truck is on a 70 day QC hold, and it's literally a double cab, 4 cylinder, 2WD, SR lol.

I think the hold is mostly about the welding on brackets for child seats not being up to par.

Mine was built 1/31. Double cab OR automatic with premium and advanced tech. Seems the hold was put on everything built mid January to mid February. Seems everything after mid February is clear and there have been a couple of lucky people who had their trucks come off of hold.

If so, I would think the dealer could make the repair similar to a recall. According to my dealer, the truck is sitting in a rail yard.

I’ve been noticing quite a few dealers in Southern Ontario have brand new 2023Access Cab Tacomas for sale. Just wondering if Toyota is building out a certain number of these odd configuration and pushing them on dealers before they start production of the major model change of 2024. Any thoughts?

I noticed a small influx of brand new Access cabs out here in South West BC around February. Toyota had a promotion along with them. Most seem to be sold at this point. All the other models seem to be lacking. Very little inventory near me. Any allocations seem to be spoken for.

    —-

how is this possible? One truck was built 2 weeks earlier and arrived at Veracruz also 2 weeks earlier, but the later one was shipped instead?? Despite that both of these will go to Newark? This is the only thing that doesn’t make any sense with predictions. It makes me wonder if there is some other variable we all don’t know about or some other prioritization system that is not quantified in some way. Thoughts dragon?

That later build seems to be after the QC issue, which I'd assume has a cutoff around 2/14-2/17. Maybe they decided to keep em in veracruz to do the inspection, idk

My TRD OR is a manual, but doesn’t have the other options you have.

Mine was also a manual, but I think there are autos on the hold as well

I think it has something to do with the trucks that were built during mid January to mid February. I have absolutely no idea what it could be, I am simply speculating at this point. My Taco was built mid January & has an eternal hold, LOL. My Taco is sitting at the rail yard in Houston, TX...directly behind Gulf States Toyota distro center.

Oh, and my Taco is 2023 Trail Edition, so I don't believe that the packages has much to do with the hold as it seems to be not package specific.

It was only $100 to hold my truck. It might be faster to order another one and just eat the $100.

SO stoked for ya, but now my confusion grows...mine was put on hold 3 days before yours, and mine is still on hold. Gulf States is REALLY trying my patience, LOL!!

Don't eat anything, the dealer should (and I'd think would) give it back to you if it's been several months. Its not like they are going to lose a sale, they'll prolly have it resold before it hits the lot. If they don't play, call your CC company and dispute, given you never received the product you should have no trouble winning. That being said, I might not give up a deposit till I actually had another truck in hand, you could wait just as long for the next one.

Oh interesting so it sounds like it went to Canada to then drop back down to Washington by truck.
