Yeah I’m leaning that way, when I put my RCVs in, the outer boots popped off, and I just re clamped them. So I’m going to be rebuilding them the proper way and re grease them. But what makes it hard to think it’s cvs is it’s only happening in 4wd. Wouldn’t they be making noise full time?

Does the clicking change speed and intensity as vehicle speed increases? In 4WD they would certainly be under load. Perhaps it isn't as loud when they are free spinning? :notsure:

Easy enough to check if its a CV. Swap in another one and test it. A lot easier than getting into the diff without really knowing.

Another piece to the puzzle. I threw it on a lift and put it in 4wd double locked and I couldn’t repeat the noise. But on flat ground it was doing it.

This was $4500 to match factory black. They had only planned to mask, sand, and paint. They ended up taking the truck apart anyway.

Thanks! I've been neglecting the Taco the last couple years. I'm going to be cleaning her up a bit once it warms up here in Winterland.

Shoutout to @ThunderOne for the amazing post regarding TVIP upgrade

Factory alarm enabled once I found a glass break sensor. I have factory keyless entry so the alarm brain and harness plug was already installed, just needed to unwrap the 4P connector from behind the panels.

In the case that it strips on you, an air hammer with a chisel tip will make easy work for getting it off.

Spacers in the front and leaf packs in the rear. I replaced ALL cv shafts, uca, lca, tie rods, and whatever bushings that was around the suspension last fall. All using oem or oem spec products. I will be replacing springs/struts this summer. I don't recall what was used. I didnt have to extend any lines, etc. Wheels are 16x8 +0 & 4.5 bs. I'm up 3" no issues with the 285-75 Wild Peaks.

Just got the truck back from the aliment shop, just finished a rebuild of the front-end. The pre numbers are pretty bad but it was enough to get it to the shop.

Report back if you feel like it makes a difference. Their description of the stock one “stretch and distort” is kind of a hard sell for me.

My steering wheel alignment seems to get out of wack easily, if there’s any movement on the rack my steering wheel doesn’t line up perfectly, I’m hoping this will bit down harder on the bushing to keep the rack from moving going forwards

I hear you, I struggle with alignments too. The price tags seems high. Id be much more interested at $60

Hopefully it camp's down harder on the bushing so the rack doesn't move.
I've been struggling with alignments for years, so hopefully the new Polyurethane steering rack bushing and this clamp will solve my problem

How are you liking the feel of how it drives with that much caster. Personally I like that the truck is more impervious to side winds at highway speed with a higher caster number but some don't like that more effort is required to turn.
