4th Gen Tacoma (2024+)

I'm with you on being baffled by the lack of power sliding rear window. I don't get it. It's not possible to reach and slide a manual rear slider while driving. The Frontier also doesn't have a power rear slider. Not even available as an option. GM even added a sunroof for the first time on the Canyon (as a $1000 option), which seems far more complicated and costly than adding a power rear slider. It should be standard on every trim level, just like the side windows.

The ideal, lowest wind noise way to go without using AC is front windows partly open and rear slider fully open. It has the wind path with the least turbulence. Any other open window configuration ranges from noisier to painfully noisy.

Exactly my man. I see a lot of stupid folks have been commenting in this thread and torching it, so I just zipped it for the most part.

Now..., why would I say this was a new 2023/24 model for 4+ years and of course also pass on, debuting the week of April 3rd, then have Toyota USA hint at the same EXACT thing, if 2025 was going to be the case INSTEAD? You can only say the truth so many times...

Some folks should shut up and leave it the rest of us paying attention, which I estimate to be hundreds of TW members against the loud stubborn

On a more positive side note, focused discussion on this truck goes well beyond 2021 in the 177-178 pages of this thread and all the way back to 2019 during the 3rd gen facelift.

Think the mods need to merge all the 4th gen threads related to this from 2019 to present into one bigger thread in the 4th generation Tacoma sub-forum ASAP and label it 4th Generation Development Discussion. And keep it separate from the discussion post-press release next week.

Future discussion of the most well known nameplates, tend to be the largest around, so the many pages is standard fare per almost any forum.

It's been an interesting 4 years discussing this here and virtually most things coming true as expected. Still more to learn of course...

It'd be nice if the TRD Pro actually came with a more powerful engine to set itself apart from every other Taco besides the embossed badge on the bed.

 

Will that be when they crucifixion of the 3rd gen occurs? Toyota marketing is really playing up the cult angle.
