Question about the wifi-connection, how do you get the video on to your phone/computer? Do you have to connect to a wifi network to view the videos? I dont get good wifi where I park so I didn't bother with that option when I bought mine.

I cannot answer for his setup, and truth be told it's likely better now than when I did it.

For me, at the time, I had to go into the cameras settings and enable the wifi network. Then I was required to go into my phone and connect to that network. After that i had to open the Chinese app for the camera and then wait for the VERY slow process of viewing or moving videos.

Frankly, a USB OTG adapter and microsd card reader would have been light years better.

Again though, it is likely a lot better now

I have one of these stories...

One dark night in December, 2021, I'm on I-25 about an hour from home after a long day spent at a supplier's facility. I'm cruising along doing about 70 in the center lane of a 3-lane riding 5 or 6 car lengths behind another vehicle in my 2019 Accord Sport. As I pass an electronic road sign warning of an accident ahead, I can see flashing red and blue lights reflecting off an overpass ups ahead on the right, so I move over to the left lane. No sooner do I get over, I notice just up ahead there's a vehicle stopped in the left shoulder with a couple people moving around it, so I proceed to move back to the center lane. Just as I'm checking my right mirror to move over, I hit something hard and instantly go airborne as the front of my car launches a few feet in the air. After the hard landing and some choice words I make my way to the right shoulder, having no idea what I just hit, but I assume (correctly) I must have hit a loose wheel in the road. Once I get stopped on the shoulder, I get out to check the damage and there's a girl in another car that pulled up right behind me. Turns out, after I hit the wheel in the road, it was thrown back and into her, causing some minor bumper damage and a flat left front tire. She actually thought it was my wheel that flew off, but at this point she can see that I've still got all of mine. After making sure she is okay, I go back to my Accord and assess the damage. Right front tire is flat (rim is also cracked, but I didn't know it at the time), bumper cover is shredded, right headlight cluster smashed, the right fender liner is gone, as is the windshield wiper fluid reservoir that was behind it, only the fluid pump is still there dangling by the hose. Right fender, front passenger door and the rocker are also damaged. Based on what I see, it's not drivable, so I call AAA for a tow. I also notice there are about 4 or 5 other vehicles around me that are also disabled on the shoulder, presumably also victims of the wayward lost wheel, though I assumed one of them must have been the wheel's original owner. State patrol shows up after a bit and writes up a report, says it's going to be a no-fault road damage claim, but after he checks out the other disabled vehicles he comes back and tells me someone did lose a wheel and it was going to be written up as a collision. A week later I get a copy of the police report, which shows no fault on my part, but the source of the wayward wheel is shown as unknown, which means I was out my deductible. The damage to my Accord was over $6K. I don't think they ever found the wheel either.

In high school this happened to me (1999-2000), i was driving a 78 VW Rabbit and my driver rear wheel came off on the interstate and rolled right past me at highway speed, ended up in the ditch near the guardrail. I was able to keep the car going with a combination of balancing the throttle and brake until i could get safely to the side of the road. It was terrifying but ended safely and i was able to retrieve the wheel and wait while a friend brought me some lug nuts to reattach the wheel. I crumpled the rear rocker a bit and the fender lip took a bend when the wheel came off but luckily nobody was injured.

i check these things routinely ever since…

    I mean, if money wasn't a factor I'd probably just have a BearCat G3.

That's the problem there - I-25 - something weird always happens on that freeway. And I don't even travel it very often.

Although, one winter, traction laws in effect, and a combination of twitter:cdot, NOAA weather app and apple maps, we were able to skirt around big snow from Castle Rock to Durango using hwy 24, 285 and 50 on mostly dry asphalt.

    OME and worth every penny.
I once saw a loose wheel bounce OVER one of those overhead signs like in the video, actually think it was even higher as it was in Houston over I-10. Had to look up to watch it. It came down back in the same direction luckily but I thought I was about to see someone die.

    Houston is a weird town.

My story earlier was on 290.

This picture was taken on 610.

I hated my commute when I lived there. Sometimes it was 20 minutes. The day I took the picture, it was four hours. And that's not the only time that happened. I lost accrued vacation to Houston highways.
