    Hello TW!

Looking to get myself a soft topper and I’m torn on which color I should get (black, grey, tan). I don’t want to have color remorse and looking to see what the general consensus would be. Any feedback is appreciated.

Black. Goes with everything. The tan will make your truck look like a cartoon( I’ve seen one already and just stared and thought “really?” Only thing gray is your stickers on the rear.
Black will look good next to the dark window tint. Just my two unwanted pesos.

I think tan looks best on the darker colors.

If your wheels were more of a vibrant bronze, I'd say tan to match. But they're so dark that they almost look black. Go with black. Like stated above, goes with everything. Just ordered a black Softopper myself for my BRM DCSB.

Agreed. I’ve seen a tan on both the light and dark blue. It’s more palatable on the darker blue.

This is what I’m leaning towards, my only concern is heat with gear and the occasional makeshift hotel room when traveling to see my folks. The interior is all gray but that is moot in regards to exterior. I appreciate the feedback.

Well you certainly aren’t helping! (Jk) I saw that on google and while it does look great on dark blue, I think my wheel choice will make things look too busy and attract eyes too much. I’m still torn 0_0

I agree if my wheels were lighter. They are a dark bronze matte finish. They def don’t look black in the daylight, pictures can be hard to determine sometimes but they are certainly darker than the tan. The tan would help out with heat in the summer and show less dirt but also fear it would be too busy of a look. My design acquainted lady friend said grey or black. My black diamondback was on point but I had different use for that. Did you order black (I presume) and is there a lead time?

Thanks for your insight. Are you agreeing with @W4LK3R?

I did order black. My experience was no lead time. Ordered on Friday, an hour later I had a tracking number. No movement on the package until Monday, but it is on its way and should be here tomorrow!

That is great news. Looks like I need to get the ball rolling. I’m hoping for a smooth shipment and install ahead for you. Rockin factory wheels? Post a picture if you want when you’re sitting in the drive admiring the fruit of your labors. :D

Tan looks great on a white truck.

I am on stock wheels still, yes. My truck is still mostly stock, minus tint, radio, and everyone’s most hated mod, the Pro grill

Softopper arrived today. Black was a solid choice for me. Hope this helps you decide!

Black or tan. I like the tan, because you don't see them very often.

To be honest I don’t think you can go wrong with any on you color Tacoma. Black is the safe bet but I think tan looks pretty good.

@W4LK3R That looks fantastic! Thank you for the update. I hope the topper treats you well for years to come!

@MGMDesertTaco Tan is very appealing to me, but I think my wheels may just look too goofy with it. My photoshop skills have diminished otherwise I'd try to do a little mockup for myself.

@HighCountryTacoma I think you're right on. Black will give a nice low profile look. If I still had my stock wheels I'd go gray 100%.

The consensus is...there is no consensus. I think I have a 33% chance in being satisfied, lol

Most likely black will be the way. Thank you everyone.
