Has anyone had luck with an externally mounted shower for their Kimbo setup? Most things I see on the market are ridiculously priced and made with cheap plastic components. I’m considering building something completely custom…but figured I’d ask here first for some inspiration.

it sure would be nice to have a handy outdoor shower setup for those dirty summer mtn biking days.

New member, and hopeful Kimbo / Tacoma owner. Have gone through every page of this thread and Kimbo obsessed! Thanks to all who have fed this addiction. If anyone knows / hears of a fairly stock Kimbo for sale I’m all ears!

Maybe not the answer you’re looking for, but for a low tech solution I had a hitch mounted WaterPort on my Jeep before I went full water pump etc. Seems to kind of fit the Kimbo simplicity model?

    To be determined
I’m in the stage of ordered TRD Off Rd ( it’s on the way) and had a wicked case of jitters. FYI: the TRD seems a bit heavier then, say Sr5 series… I’m gonna beef up suspension but it looks close when loaded.

just trying to save on nerves.

Any chance there’s someone in the LA area-ish that would be up for a brief tour of their rig? Would love to see one in the flesh before I pull the trigger.

    Update for interested passersby:

I ordered a new one while I contacted EcoFlow about the issue. They sent me a FedEx label to send the bad battery back to them to be replaced. The new one is now my main battery. I used the packing material from the new battery to send the old one back; that's the hassle in this whole operation. Great that they paid for shipping both ways, but I needed that packing material to send back the old.

They told me I had two choices when I first contacted them. 1) they'd fix mine and send it back, or 2) I could get a new-to-me refurbished battery. I chose the new-to-me refurbished. It arrived last week in what looks like brand new condition complete with new cables and plugs and a cable to hook up to solar panels. As this is now my backup, I'm thinking I'll get some suitcase portable panels for when I'm on extended travel for power needs that I may have.

Thanks to everyone who shared suggestions on what to do/try etc.

I was over on the local spotted thread just now and made me think about the Kimbo I saw back on March 5th just north of Enumclaw, WA. I was hauling my Scout. You on here bro?

Profloundering, would it be feasible to put a Kimbo in a standard truck bed, use it for a year or so, and then have it modified later with the Sherpatek set up like you've got? I love the storage it provides and it looks great too, although I think I'd go with a Tundra.

We ran the kimbo in the stock bed for a year before getting the Sherptek...the best thing would be to reach out to Ryan and pick his brain on it. He'll be able to look at the stock specs for height/width/length of both components and give you an idea if they'll be able to accomodate. I'd love to see how the newer Tundra would look with the Sherptek/Kimbo combo.

There are a plethora of options to look at so you'll want to look at their website and have a very good understanding of what you'll want to include with the build going in. I'd like to see a DCLB tundra with the Kimbo mounted at the cab to see if there could be a built in porch without the tailgate.

Anyone in the Denver area willing to give me a tour of their Kimbo? Would like to see one in person before deciding. Happy to trade beer/cookies for your time!

Did anyone else get an Ecoflow River Max with their Kimbo? Thought it was a River Pro until I started looking at upgrading to the 2 battery option and noticed it was the Max instead.

Would love a bare bones Kimbo [want to design my own space just for the joy of it] but might have an option to buy a used one that's more or less fully loaded. How straight forward would it be to remove all the various components? How are they attached to the shell? Just rivets etc?

Sky is the limit - have you visited the factory? Everything in the interior is screwed or bolted in with riveted stud anchors or threaded holes. This is great because you have many points to anchor your custom items. The only items that seem structural are the spars (two aluminum and one wood) but I think I actually saw a Kimbo at some point with one or more of them removed but I'd definitely consult Kimbo before modifying those.

Can someone with a Kimbo provide the measurement in the open spot where the tape/knife are in this photo? Looking at solar options and this one might fit to add 100W (~72x72cm)

Cool yeah assumed it was pretty easy, but haven't been able to poke around one in person in depth. Got to visit one quickly - beautifully built things!
