I'm going to call MPC and ask. I actually don't think I want it if opening the door kills the engine.

I have N2 with a manual, that has an H key. When you open the it stays running. I think it’s the same with keyed SR.

I don't know exactly which kit you're looking at, but the Q&A on Amazon for the Toyota/Lexus kit says the engine will kill.

I'm looking at this kit. This is the same brand I installed in the Wrangler.
    https://shop.mypushcart.com/plug-n-...ss-firmware-preloaded-usa-based-tech-support/

I called and confirmed with key to start the engine DOES stay running when you open the doors. They had to put me on hold and confirm with tech support. Also this kit only works with automatic transmission trucks.

Their push to start kits do kill the engine when the door is opened on most Toyota and Lexus vehicles too.

YotaWerx Blackhawk 2.0 tuned. Typer Auto tail light guards. Rough Country tri-fold tonneau cover. Start-X remote starter. Injen CAI. MBPR Armor Plus high clearance exhaust.
Assuming you don’t have Toyota Connect, and are looking for FOB commanded remote start, the Start-X systems are great. Completely plug and play and they work with the factory key fob, just like the OEM accessory does. Just know, they have limited range without add-ons. I installed mine in about 15 minutes.

You CAN add a long range antenna that integrates with the Start-X system. They also support integration with the CellLink module, which allows you to use a mobile app to start the truck, as well as lock and unlock the doors. Start-X will provide assistance/instructions for the integration.

The only caveat is you have to buy the system new and be able to provide a purchase order or number from the authorized seller to receive that support. They will not support used devices under any circumstances.

I have a 21 Trd off-road with tech. As soon as my one year subscription was up, the app no longer worked to start the truck, but the fob start also stopped working. I asked the dealer and they said you have to pay for the subscription even to use the fob for remote start. I find that stupid considering my 2007 tundra had factory remote start with fob and never required any subscription for the 10 years I had it.

Those of you who say your fob remote start still works even without renewing the subscription must just be lucky because I also have a friend whose fob stopped also working after the subscription ran out.

I have been following this subject for 2 years throughout this forum and still cannot confirm either way whether the fob works after the 1 year expiration or not. There are Tacoma owners experiencing both situations. Is there any authority out there? Maybe it has something to do with the app. If the app is removed after the expiration, perhaps the fob will work? I am curious, but it does not apply to me in any event. I have a 6MT.

    Brand new.

My 2022 Trd off-road subscription ends tomorrow. I renewed it for $80. If you figure that when you buy some thing like say a case of beer and adds up over the year that adds up for more than $80 and to have a remote start it’s a convenient especially in the winter time here in New England or to air condition your vehicle in the middle of the dead summer when your truck is black like mine.

Viper is indeed the best, remote start up to a mile. You can get a glass breakage sensor and a tilt sensor (someone towing your ride). Not cheap, but works great. Keep in mind it's active, not passive like the factory alarms.

I got the N2 system with the cell module. One of my best upgrades. Plug and play. Kind of confusing to program, but you only have to do it once. Weirdly when you install it your microphone stops working. You have to pull a fuse and push it back in. That part is all explained in the directions.
