I have a new tie rod end and CV axle c-clips arriving from Cruiser Outfitters tomorrow. When I started removing the old tie rod, the castle nut was finger tight. It was held in place by the cotter pin. That was the emergency rack job where the big bushing washers were left off and the rack was twisting up on the first day. I will need to retorque everything now that I'm finding this.

One of the SRS F5 wheels was bent beyond being able to be balanced. The other had bark rammed up into the bead. I think that wheel will be ok. I'm glad that I bought 5 wheels three years ago. I can run the spare until I can get another F5.

The body man that did a lot of the restoration work on the Taco and LX470 sold his body shop and works on RVs now. He offered to help with this one. He has been very reasonable with me through the years. I just need to get it to him.

Looking at the bright side, if I had not sandwiched between two trees, I would have hit one head on and wrapped the front around it. I would have been able to just walk away without a scratch. I am glad that I waited to install the Gamivitti rack. It would have been severely damaged on the passenger side or maybe thrown from the roof if it had been installed.

You probably don't want him standing up for himself given their typical prey drive. You might want an elevated bowl though haha

Yeah that's probably true, usually it's not an issue because he'll eat all his food right away, but some mornings like today he won't get off the couch for awhile

Three years ago, I watched this video and listened to Jason Harris about Aussie bumper crash testing during my build and went with ARB. Jason has become my friend and he takes care of me with serious work like transfer case regearing.

The crumple zones protected my frame and I hopped out without a scratch or bruise.

New storm system today/tomorrow...3" or so rain and more snow. It's funny watching my social media feed seeing so many people around CA complaining about the constant rain this year, how quickly they forget how badly this is needed. Most of them were begging for it last year when it was dry.

Read an LA Time article with the headline "When Will This End?" and the journalist writing it was obviously not a fan of wet weather haha. Said there's supposedly another storm next week and you could just feel their sadness behind those words.

Honestly it's really excellent, and of course it cannot last as you approach summer anyway, what's wrong with a rainy spring.... that's a normal spring.

The only people I feel bad for are the ones in the mountain communities, some are still snowed in completely from the real big storm 4 weeks ago. Every time they see some glimmer of hope another storm rolls through

In 1862 there were massive rains that flooded the entire Central Valley, desert and LA area of CA and they are predicting that will happen again in the next few decades...maybe it's gonna happen sooner than later
