    Hi,

I have been into 4x4 Toyota trucks since I bought my first new one in 1985. Should never of sold the old straight axle. Bought a new 1989 SR5 V6 and drove that one for over 100,000 miles. The third one was a 1975 FJ 45 which I wish I still had. I sold my son my F350 with the 7.3 thinking I did not need a truck. Wrong answer! Yesterday I bought a 2019 Tacoma SR5. Man these trucks have come a long way. Love my new Toy and can’t wait to start on my new project. This is a great site, gotta get back to researching how to spend my next pay check.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Man!

    A man after my heart.

1985 was a good year...I graduated from HS that summer!

Back then, those Toyos were boxy lookin' and made into some Radical trucks in SoCal/LA.

My 2021 is the first New truck for me and I have been driving with a smile for almost two years.

    Enjoy your ride!

I know what you mean. With traffic my ride home from the dealer was 2 hours. I was smiling, laughing and singing along with Country Western songs as loud as the radio would go.

Thank you, the only issue with the first two was a wheel seal as it neared 100,000 miles on the ‘89. The ‘85 never had an issue. The FJ45 had a Chevy motor so it does not count. This one has 34k on the clock so it will last longer than I will.

Welcome back to Toyota ownership. They have come a long way in comfort, but wrenching on a 22re is still more fun to me

Thanks! The 22re is a great motor. I went through withdrawals when I bought the V6 in 1989. No straight axle and no inline 4 banger.... but it had an "extra cab". LOL
