We're gonna make sure Amanda's next car has full coverage, and her mom was in the Army, so we're gonna get her USAA for insurance!

The kitchen doesn't really have room for a cooktop/wall oven setup unless you want to sacrifice counter space. While I would prefer a double oven, a separate microwave, and a gas cooktop with a powerful ventilation hood, beggars can't be choosers unless they are very wealthy. Also, I love pretty much everything else about this plan, so I would be okay with having the standard range/oven with a microwave above. My parents owned numerous houses during my dad's time in the Navy, and only the last two we've lived in have had the cooktop/wall oven; I personally think it's more elegant, but I'm happy as long as the house has a gas stove and a self-cleaning oven.

The other thing I cannot get past is why this house has the washer and dryer in the garage instead of having a dedicated laundry room or even just having them in the basement. This house comes standard with a basement foundation, but can also be had with a crawlspace or a slab foundation. If it were built in California, Texas, or certain parts of the Southeast, then having the washer and dryer in the garage would be just fine (think Hank and Peggy's house in King of the Hill).

Houses in the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast region (like her in Southeast PA), however, generally do not have the washer and dryer in unconditioned areas of the house like the garage. Our old fridge does just fine in our garage, but I would feel more comfortable having a ductless mini-split heat pump for a washer and dryer so the units don't get exposed to extreme temperature swings...

This is a very workable plan with regards to making additions. The garage could be extended out to the side to give more space for a dedicated laundry room, and I would also probably bump the master suite out slightly to give the house a bathroom with dual sinks and a separate tub and shower.

And then I looked underneath and found this in the lower right corner of the radiator. The coolant level in the reservoir hasn't gone down at all since the thermostat and two gaskets were replaced under warranty at the dealer...

As soon as I open the reservoir cap, I am hit by the overwhelming smell of antifreeze. Whatever was on the asphalt did not smell like antifreeze...
