I guess for me it's trying to find good food that's not uber processed. How many years did they use red dye and tell us it's perfectly fine to consume? Same thing with MSG. I remember when there were the first postings about BPA in plasticware when my kids were just little. I started searching for BPA free all the while the 'professional opinion' was it's ok for you. Now nobody has it their products.
I personally feel the reason our grandparents lived so long and 'drank & smoked' is because they ate no processed food.
When I turned 50 (8 years ago) I lost 65+ pounds and started reading food labels & ingredients. One of my first 'oh shit moments' was discovering there's high levels of sodium in milk? Why? I'm sure it's for shelf life, but WTF?! And the list goes on- just start reading/looking at the foods you eat...

When we are in other countries travelling I often look at foods or snacks that we also have in the US and most times the labels are different- containing much less stuff that you can't pronounce. Our FDA doesn't have as strict guidelines as many other countries do. Just because the gov says 'yes that food has the same ingredient as Tide pods but the amount you're consuming is much less, so it's ok' - doesn't make me feel better about it.

Don't be jealous- we had 26 years of nothing but work and raising kids. Then in one year 2 trips= Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Iceland. We do pop over to Canada once in a while since it's only about 1.5 hours away. Alaska this year for my son's wedding. Poland and Germany next year.
I want to see more Scandinavian countries (Norway, Sweden, etc) before I'm too old to celebrate my Viking blood!

I thought it was guacamole? Or in the future they finally found a way to use cilantro?

There is an 80 acre corn field across from my house that has been sold to a developer. 30-60 houses depending on what the township will approve. More and more people/ houses, less and less farmlands. This will not end well. A little salsa on my Soylent Green cracker might not be to bad.

Excited, I worked 35 yrs for Gov (ret in 2019), and concurrently worked as self-employed since 1994, did the raising kids thing, and in a few weeks wife and I are finally going on a trip to Ireland/Scotland/London. A Covid delayed 35th anniversary trip, first one for us alone without kids since our honeymoon!
    Excited!!

I've been to Finland, Sweden & Norway. All beautiful countries. My mom was Swedish, my dad Finnish & my grandfather Norwegian.

    I guess I'm a Viking, also ;)

Yeah we got snow today as well, it has melted since the sun came out. It’s supposed to warm up but with rain. Still getting my dog walking in, keeping me sane for now. It’s kinda funny, I’m on a truck forum and can’t drive for 6 months.

Cold front is moving through overnight with a snow squall or mixed precipitation. I still have the studded snow tires on so we’ll be okay for the morning commute.

Wife started to hunt about getting a new car and unloading the Forester XT. On her wish list is a 4Runner. I have a Cadillac XT5 on mine… New vehicles are certainly expensive.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Took the sandbags out of the truck this evening. They are saying snow possibly Fri night into early Sat. I'm betting there won't be enough to worry about.
