It's quite clear what is really going on here. Pat is a teacher and naturally much smarter than most. He timed that upgrade perfectly while he is 1,000 miles away from his wife. "Honey I broke it, guess I'll just have to get it fixed, oh no the horror!"

Optimus weekender HE is my backpacking / water boiling rocket stove.

I had a Jetboil genesis Basecamp but I sold that to @uploadadventure a while back. Pretty sure he was using it in his kitchen a while back since he never goes camping any more lol

I had a cook partner stove when I had my trailer for like 3 months but I wasn’t a huge fan considering how much that cost. It got plenty hot but it was hard to control the lower end and I always turned the dial the wrong way when adjusting it. It was pretty touchy.

I’ve been using an Ikamper disco that I got when they ran it on Kickstarter (so I saved like 25%+). It’s really nice and you can use it without the dish for a pan or whatever or hang it over the fire. Got a ton of flexibility and everything packs up pretty compactly.

oh and a Weber Q 1200 makes the trip on occasion. The first trips we made out west were just the Weber Q and the rocket stove. We pretty much grilled something and made a mountain house for the side for every meal.

Yes please add me to the list, I just saw I'm off work that week and would like to meet some people to do trails with. You did have the dates up there but I didn't see the edit date so I thought it was from 2019 originally
