All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I just saw the new Race Team version the other day. It was nice! The suspension on that bike is (.)(.)s!

So I got my Klim Marrakesh pants in today. Overall good fit/finish/whatever (should be for the price..) and a little baggy but it comes with D3O Ghost armor in it and HOLY CRAP. Talk about thin and flexible. I have no idea how this is CE rated but it's shocking how not noticeable it is. It's level 1 but apparently is borderline level 2. I'm loving them in the hip pad slot but they're so flexible that in my knee pockets I feel like they might not stay in place well.

The knees are interchangeable with elbows, so I might swap the ghost knees into my commuting jacket and the commuting jackets LP1 D3O into the pant knees to hold shape better.

I wanted to do some research on it and see what was what and how protective it actually is, because I didn't believe it, and found this decent writeup on it: https://www.mcgearhub.com/motorcycle-armor/d3o-ghost-armor-review-guide-all-protectors/

    Seriously gobsmacked

    Hey Guys I have a 1980 cb750

bike was running well in the fall but I need to clean the carbs as something is causing it to leak.

do you normally have to sync the carbs after rebuild/cleaning them?

100%. IMO don't try to get a "lightweight" (tenere 700, gs850 etc) adv bike to go off road it just won't be fun.

Get a plated 350-500cc fuel injected single and you will love love, truck out to location and ride from base camp

How far do you plan on taking them apart and cleaning them? Just pulling the bank off, pulling bowls, and removing jets? Or fully splitting up the 4 carbs and complete disassembly?

If you're just pulling bowls, shouldn't need to re-sync, if you're completely disassembling you most likely will need to. When I rebuilt them on my '81, I just did a bench sync by eye and that was good enough.

Edit: I found my carb rebuilding bible- https://www.cb750c.com/publicdocs/SeanG/Honda_Carb_Manual_revG.pdf

As @spencermarkd stated it depends upon the level of teardown. I have a CB400F and stripped them completely, splitting them so I could individually run each one through an ultrasonic tank. My bench sync was almost spot on with only very minor tweaks needed when it was done. When you think they're clean, clean them again. My bike was a sort of barn find that sat for at least 8 years and I had a heck of a time getting them thoroughly clean to where they worked properly.

This stuff is the real deal. I ride a shit ton and commute on my bikes. I have hit the ground 6 times due to accidents caused by others.
One accident was so violent I was thrown 20yrds from the bike into the woods. The KLIM gear has saved my ass, elbows, shoulders and everything else attached.

Last big crash I was in was about 4yrs ago, a 17yr old Tboned me with a Tahoe on my GSA1200. It split the bike into 2 pieces and it was one bad wreck. When I got thrown from the bike my knee was sent right thru the entire instrument cluster and windshield assembly ripping all that plastic and shit off the bike with knee. out of all the hits I have taken, that one would have destroyed my leg. The armor did its job and the abrasive material, didn’t allow the plastics to cut me all up.

I for one can easily endorse the gear. I didn’t even have to buy another set of gear, it held up like it did before.

I own three sets of their gear, a heavy Dakar Set, mid weight Dakar and their light weight for hard enduro.

I can also say that getting a light weight carbon fiber helmet has also been a game changer for my neck. I ride most hard enduro and hate scrambles, so my head is constantly bobbin’, didn’t think it would make such a difference. I roll with a Krios helmet and an Arai. Both are carbon.

    Big bois bounce hahaha.
I kid, glad you made it through in one piece.

Gonna have to hit you up when the weather improves. Neighbor and I were talking about lining up a trip to Highland Park as we get closer to summer. He's going to get us one of the RMAX4s from the lab so the fam can roll. If the timing works for you to join that'd be great!

I will load up and meet you guys over there for sure brutha.

and your correct, big boys bounce :), that’s what the doctor said after that last accident. Everyone that came up to the crash was like, how the F are you walking around.

Also, I have amassed a good amount of new toys for the ADV biz up here. You want me to bring any smaller stuff for the kids, I picked up 2 Honda TRX250x, and 2 Kawasaki KLX 110L for teaching the youngster for to ride. I can also bring my RMAX along…how old are your kids again?

I am getting linked up with the National MSF program, so I am about to start offering lessons/instruction on both on and offroad.
Figured if people were coming to stay with me and ride, I may as well send them off with a Certificate if they would like to do so.

Love the direction you're going with the operation. My littles are 6/4 yo, so on the younger side. But definitely hoping they want to pursue some motorsports. I've already got them pretty well groomed on the human powered two wheeled toys. Perhaps we can be some pilot program customers for you so you can iron out the kinks

I'll keep you posted on the Highland trip.

Yea as far as I know there isn't anything modern in the lineup for that engine range. All the sub 450cc are built in Japan.

Yeah I just wish there was a Yamaha in the 200-250 class. I would be all over it. The Hondas are super nice though, reliability is there and they have stepped up there game with some styling over the past 2 years.
