Stihl 290 Farmboss with an 18” bar.
Stihl 200t with 14” bar.

 

Here is a pretty amazing Locust I dropped about 2yrs ago. It was the biggest one I have seen in NC. Stood about 115’ and was as big as an oak at the base.

I am splitting it up and making a fence.

 

Yeah, a refurbished homeowner saw that just won’t die. Is it as good as a pro saw? Absolutely not. Does it cut up wood? Sure does. It takes longer and I want another pro saw but this one just keeps running.

 

I think 100% of new Stihl users flood their saw the first few times they try to start it. Not sure if it makes them "idiots", just inexperienced.

 

We had both idiots and inexperienced saw people working hurricane cleanup, who would have chainsaw certification at a minimum and none flooded their Stihl saws. The newer husky saws on the other hand….

that 500i is lightweight for its displacement and cuts like a dream, but the fuel usage was crazy high.

 

Yes, we don’t use it for traditional use. It’s a tool for tactical applications..

idiots, because they have no knowledge on how to use it, don’t ask for help, let their ego take control and then they go break shit or injure themselves. frustrating..

Thanks for the offer but my shoulders can no longer put up with high compression engines.
I sold 11 of my 12 woods ported saws. I kept the Husky 350 with ported 346 top end though.

 

Hear hear and all good. I don’t build them past 190psi. If the builder can’t make them buzz strong at that psi, he’s relying more on compression instead of flow.

Is that the MS400 CM?

 

Yes. It’s the only option in the 400. Currently with a 20” bar. Could have used a 24” but o have no other need for a bar that big.

 

How do you like it? I'm thinking about adding it to my stable.

MS362
550XP
562XP
372XP

I cut around 30 face cord a year, plus non stop trimming around our horse ranch. I think the MS400 would fit in nicely.

 

I’m not expert and a home owner cutter. It’s a bit above the 362 in power and weight.
As you have a 372xp is another 67cc saw necessary?

I have a 170, 261, and the 400. All I need.
I put a 16” light bar on the 261….
