Fellow 23 owner here - we get the push-button this year, but no remote start because it's an SR5.

Probably already been answered on here but is the Trail Edition pre-wired for fog lights as if I wanted to install TRD Pro Ridged Industries lights?

Excellent so how difficult or easy was the installation? Looks like I could just pop off the blank covers and plug and play install with the ridged industries TRD pro lights.

Any photos would be welcome as I don’t want to have to pay for someone to do all the wiring and install the switch.

    The installation is pretty much straight forward: here is a list of items that you need to buy regardless what fog lights you end up at the end;
9008087026 (1) Fog Light Relay switch
8211404010 (1) Wire Engine room, no 4 *note Toyota will say is wrong but is the right one
    9016750063 (2) Tapping Screws
841400R010 (1) Switch Assembly, Headlamp dimmer
I did not included the prices, because they change everyday. Then you have to ordered the Ridged TRD Fog lights. The hardest part is swapping the switch assembly, but there are videos on YouTube that will show you how. Good luck. B83E8274-06A1-4A21-B4B3-B8612F16E074.jpg

Well... I guess that I really don't need fog lights after all.

I my mechanical ability is as such that I'm not gonna be wiring stuff and going through a firewall and I can imaging what it would cost going to the "stealership"

Perhaps the TRD Pro headlights make more sense

Totally understand, but reality is you don’t have to go through a firewall. The wiring harness connects to existing one in your truck, the relay switch is already marked fog lights. The only thing a little bit complicated is the switch assembly which you have to disconnect the battery so the air bags won’t go off. The switch assembly is just to keep everything OEM so you won’t have to poked through the firewall. Dealership quoted me almost $2,000.00. I bought everything for around 675.00 and did it myself.

Random question if not already answered. Just bought a 2023 TE LR and was going to change the taillights to the TRD pro version but the ones that came standard look identical with internal black housing. Anyone know if they are already standard additions? They are halogen but so is the pro version from what I gather. Thanks in advance.

Should just come with the SR5 tails, which are solid red with the white turn indicators

My bad, are the white (*clear*) portions for reverse lights?

thanks for the answers and looks like your right it is the standard SR5 tails which are the same as the picture. TRD pro has some black in the top red portion. Will likely be upgrading to the pro soon. I know the pro comes w/ standard halogen but does anyone know if those bulbs are better than the SR5 standard halogen? May end up going LED w/ a wiring harness transition but if the halogen pro bulbs are just as good may do just that.

Took advantage of the warmer weather we had today up here in the north east and fitted my fog lights and remote start in my lunch break from work (I’ve only had them sat in a box since October last year!!!)

Ran out of time to tackle the indicator stalk but everything else is in ready!

Did you end up replacing the spider bushing with a Clam shell bushing?

No. I didn't change the ride height except for replacing the rear OE 1/2" block with a 1" block. Don't wanna mess with any warranty items and the truck already rides like a dream.

Putting 5100s on a Trail Edition is what I like to call "TRD-ing" my Tacoma.
