Bluetooth Mic Location?

Where have you guys mounted your mic's that you use with either your bluetooth or navigation systems? I am about to install my mic but not sure where to do it.

I have had mine in two places... 1st was up near the visor in by tucked via headliner.

The second (where it is now.) I routed it under the dash and though section of about the steering wheel. I think i get less road noise here?

I put mine on the arm that mounts the rear view mirror to the roof. I'll try to get down and take pics in a bit...

 

i went out to take a picture for you and found out all the batteries are dead on every single one of my flash lights (3 of them!) and my only camera is on my phone. But i'll describe it. Your sitting in the drivers seat, look straight up and mine is clipped to the ceiling fabric where it attaches to the front window, right in front of the sun visor.

 

Ok I see what you mean kind of... If you get a chance tomorrow to take a pic that would be awesome. Does it work good in that location for you? Good sound on the other end etc?

Hmm I like that area.. Is there any way to make it more low profile? I think I have the same exact setup as you do.

 

Really its not in the way sometimes i forget its there. you can take it off the swivel but would be harder to mount

Mine sounds great. really easy to hide the wire there. Every one I talk to says they can't tell i'm using bluetooth and they don't pick up on road noise even when i'm doing about 85 on the highway.

 

I have my mic above the rear view mirro and in between the roof and roof liner..

 

This is where I mounted mine. How do others say yours sounds on the other end of the phone? People tell me I break up all the time, but I'm not sure if it's the mic, the location, not plugged in well, etc...

Most people never know that I'm talking on my blu tooth. Sounds like I'm just talking on a phone. No ones ever complained about road noise either. I would guess if your breaking it up, it's most likely the mic/not plugged in well.

 

I tend to agree with you... What kind of head unit do you have?

 

I have the Avic Z1.. well now Z3 since I did the upgrade to it.
