Spent way too long fucking with drivers and software and finally reverted to the original one that didn't work. Then it started working.

 

Classic, if you'd just used Linux you could have just written an entire command language for it yourself, rebuilt the linux kernal, and written a lengthy forum post admonishing windows uses and then acted like that was way easier than using a windows box.

 

definitely need to dial in a bunch of stuff and pick up new vinyl to baseline with. It's running a lil rough lol

I guess my USB serial converter has already shipped. I'll probably try switching to that since it should be more stable lol

I've only had good luck with USB - Serial if it uses an FTDI board, the old fashioned multi DAC ones don't work so well

 

using the cli to install a micro lib open source pdf viewer to be able to do a basic task is a privilege. No bloatware to be found

 

Yeeep i got a FTDI USB com adapter. clearly using the virtual USB to com interface is totally reliable lol

Oh joy, the owner has a renewed interest in bringing the company back into the 21st century again with creative advertising....the same thing we did when I worked with a completely strapped team of 6-10 people before, except it sounds like he wants me to do it all. Can't wait until he goes back to England for 6 months soon because fuck all that.

 

Not sure I wanna know what he means by, "creative advertising."

 

we don't really advertise at all any more except for what our buyers do with our stuff to promote it, but that's mostly on them. Sometimes I have to provide stuff but mostly they do it on their own.

he wants us to start advertising directly again, except we don't have a public facing e-commerce site anymore, just a B2B one for wholesale. So I don't know what he wants us to advertise exactly. The only storefront we have that we maintain publicly is our Amazon one, which is another headache for me because they want to start blowing that up to compete with other big brands. Those other big brands I guarantee you have an entire creative department behind it, not one fucking guy lol.
