Picked up a used Yakima HoldUp2 off the FB Marketplace the other day for a steal. I like it much better than my last few racks that all grabbed the frame instead of the tire.

Only downside is when it's laid flat, or tilted down, my tailgate hits the wheel trays and won't open entirely. That's pretty annoying since I have a topper without windoors. Might have to pay up for one of the full swing away mounts, as I really don't want to use one of the cheaper hitch drop kits.

I've seen some people run this exact rack and clear the tailgate, but no idea how they get it to clear.

Got a decent picture before work the other day.

I have an old version of the same rack and it won’t clear my tailgate either.

my Thule t2 clears tailgate right off hitch.

love my holdup but ya tailgate hits it…I had to get a swing out from Yakima (which actually is handy to full access truck bed with bikes on)

but the holdup I have to angle the bike to get the ratchet arm to clear 29ers and the Thule clears without issue. I really want a one up but can’t justify it

Looking at getting a 165mm crankset.

I'd like it to be lighter than what I have now (705g including 32t ring).

Running Sram Eagle, with a direct mount ring and DUB bottom bracket.

I don't care to change the chainring and bottom bracket, but seems like I can get more crank for my money if it has a dub spindle and Sram 3 bolt direct mount.

I'd like to stay below $400 all in

It needs to look cool too.

    What are you guys' recommendations

5devs look cool. Not sure if they meet your weight criteria. Price wise they are over $400, but can be had for close to that if you search for coupons.

hmm. Hadn't heard of coupons on 5dev cranks.

Also, I've heard some internet ramblings about them breaking? Maybe just trolls who like to stir crap on pinkbike though. lol

I do like the looks of them, and the weight is definitely lighter, but I have just basically not considered them due to price.

No experience with them personally. They look cool, and come in some shorter than normal lengths if that is of interest to you. The cost of entry holds me back as well. I need a bit more performance benefit to justify that price tag for a spinny gizmo.

Those new E13 Helix Race looks great, though you'd need a new BB. Great price, great weight, no carbon.

I REALLY like the looks of those.

It kind of kills me though. By the time I add a ring and BB, I'm up around $435.

You mentioned "no carbon." I'm kind of torn on that. Like, I can get an X01 crankset for $300. It's 1/4lb lighter than this E13, and most other aluminum. At the end of the day, 1/4lb doesn't really matter, BUT for $135 less than aluminum, is it really that bad?? lol

Agreed, you will notice the length more than the minimal decrease in weight.

What i'm considering the most. Cheap and easy swap. Also lighter than what I have.

Just kind of ugly. lol. I hate that bulbus crank arm. I do have a feeler out trying to get a good deal on a new take-off though....
