Sure glad my Tacoma is pre-Covid, supply chain issues have been really problematic. Just my opinion.
Live in Michigan, have friends in the automotive industry, a lot of questionable things went on to get products out the door.

I'll take it off your hands for $3.7K but i can't do more than that, according to the article the truck is basically useless and I'll be parting it out in less than 3 weeks.

I stopped reading when I read the sample size and the scope of the “problems”. Ball joint issues, transmission not shifting correctly at higher mileage and the most hilarious one, DRL’s melting the lens. All these problems had a sample size of less than 300 people. The ball joints and DRL issue I have seriously never heard of on the third gens. At close 2 million units having less than 300 people report an issue is so minor that making the claim it is the least reliable midsize truck is laughable. Probably written by chat GPT.

But here we just say "Hey, it's a truck. What did you expect? It's not a luxury automobile, after all."

Ahhhh damn forgot about parting it out. Well wait that won’t work. All the parts are Toyota and off of a Tacoma so they are unreliable as f$&@. I guess I just need to count my losses early and just burn the damn thing.

Has there been any midsize with notable issues that made the truck unreliable? I can't recall any major wide spread issues from any manufacturer. There seem to have been problems here and there with the domestics. I can't recall any major issues from Nissan.

Not to shit on Toyota, buy only the rusting frames of the 1st & 2nd gens, and rusting beds on the 1st gens come to mind. That's mostly a regional issue, and not releated to the drive train.

Nissan had horrible transmission problems on the frontier and other models from 05-10. They also struggle financially for many years, that undoubtedly had an effect on their quality. I think they are doing better recently.

I can't recall that, not saying it wasn't the case. Plus the Frontier isn't as popular as the Tacoma. I was trying to back to the Nissan truck, and Hardbody days nothing stood out in my mind.

I don’t recall many issues from the hard body days. I still see them driving around like the 90s Toyota pickups. 05-10 suffered from what’s been coined as “strawberry milkshake death”. Transmission fluid and coolant would mix in the radiator destroying the transmission.
