That looks like an awful lot of thread sticking out of that upper uniball, or is it just me? o_O

Edit: also looks like more than the drivers side as well.

Yep, it's done this weird sound since day one of owning it.

    Hmm. Did you try answering?

In all seriousness, any way you could stick a gopro down there and drive around? Might reveal whatever it is.

If you can move your tire I’d imagine it’s your spindle where it connects to the UCA or could be a ball joint. Being able to move your tire/wheel like that is not normal.

I understand about your hesitation being a woman, but 70% of TW men are probably harmless :rofl:

    That uniball looks suspect

mine has an issue with a weird noise as well. Sounds like the passenger side. Mechanic can't track it down. I can feel mine in the floor board on both sides of the truck.

You had me at "Horrible knocking". Well I would say there's been plenty of people checking bolts and tightness your UCA to spindle looks kind of distant and not sure if those are tight or not but sounds like they've been checked many times. The only other thing I can think of is what about the shock those new shocks look kind of different to me what what if they reassembled those incorrectly?

May be the brake check system. I have the same issue.

Or could be your front body mount near the front bumper as you say it feels like your floor board is shaking. Could be the rubber is gone and it’s hitting metal at this point. The factory rubber doesn’t last long. Try going Energy Suspension urethane and change that out. You can find that at Amazon have a mechanic swap it out. My 18’ taco needed a new front body mount rubber piece after 4K miles. It could also be the body mount rubber right behind the pass side tire too. But the one near the front bumper goes out first.

What is the brake check system? I may have to look into that.

I had a similar issue, though only while hitting small bumps. turned out to by a fualty fox 2.0 Shock.
I took a video trying to diagonoss. tossed in my original shocks to find the issue.

Anyone else familiar with the Fox setup? I’m looking at the reservoirs in post 66 and seems like it is being held in place by a single band clamp. Is that normal? Does not look like a secure way to hold it and could be rattling against the frame.

Ok I’m just gonna throw this here bc after changing out cv axles ecgs bushing tie rods lower ball joints all on the driver side today the noise was still there so I looked where my trd slid plate bolts into the frame up front and saw my sway bar was basically a mm away from touching the bracket the skid plate bolts into. May have nothing to do with your issue but I’d say it’s worth a shot bc after spending $1000 on parts that weren’t even bad and finding this I was pissed af myself tor not looking sooner. I’m running bilstein 8112s with sway bar relocation kit hopefully this helps I believe my sway bar is bent somehow IMG_3559.jpg IMG_3558.jpg

Sure looks suspicious. Easy to remove the skid plate to see if noise goes away. Does not surprise me if the bar flexes in middle when torsion is applied. Many people run without their sway bar so that may be your option if it is indeed the noise source.

Really hard to bend a front Toyota sway bar.. More likely that the bracket for your skid plate is bent.
