I have a tuning question that I haven't seen discussed anywhere, but figured I missed along the way.

If the taco is learning and tuning the transmission as you drive, does it not "learn" a custom tune away at some point?

It may learn some but does not return to crap. It's still waaaaaaay better than stock.

    Many.
If you have VFTuner, go in and look at all of the scenarios and situations that are modified by the KDMAX team. In other words, the software adjusts the bounds of the shifting logic. Learned or otherwise. My truck tends to adjust between road trips and the daily commute rather quickly.

The truck still learns after the tune. We just change the shifting and throttle set points plus many others. We don’t have any setting to “turn off learning”, but I can say that the truck doesn’t revert back to bad habits (like stock).
We do recommend a re flash of the tune after modifications- exhaust, lift, tires, CAI, etc.

Special thanks to Jose, John, Prakesh, Dave, Jeff, and Mark for choosing KDMAX Pro and my tuning and support services earlier this month!

Great outcomes....EVERY SINGLE TIME. With a library of tune options for all these truck builds and custom adjustments when needed you are getting years of feedback and improvements in your tune.

If you want to know what tuning is about please ask me. It's not about race trucks or the drag strip. It's about having the responsiveness and control you should expect from your truck!

    upcoming Virginia events:
    April 8th - Fredericksburg / Front Royal / Charlottesville / Ashland
    April 22nd - Lynchburg / Staunton / Charlottesville / Ashland

Chris April is when they start to switch back to summer blend fuel. You should see a little bump in mpgs when the switch is completed with the summer blend. California refineries have started the the process to switch back to summer blends you will see the pump price jump up a little with the switch.
